With Revis, K-Dub, and Cro the Impregnator in the same defensive backfield, our defense is...impregnable.
something about that is hilarious. Wilson is going to have a pretty strong first test, going against Housh. Hopefully he learned a lot from J-co this offseason, because those two are pretty similar. God how exciting is it to have revis back in the fold? If revis didnt sign today, we would all be shitting bricks over this news this morning. now we could care less. How awesome is that?
I feel like they're signing a WR that they are familiar with whom also fits their offense more than they're scared. When Stallworth comes back to stretch the field the Ravens are going to have a pretty nasty passing offense. Housh, Mason, and Boldin are all essentially the same type of possession WR (though Boldin is physical enough to give some YAC ability). Typically I would say that this is a stupid move, but considering the Ravens offesnsive philosophy (which seems to be ground and pound with the run game and "just get whatever yards you have to without turning the ball over" in the passing game) the signing makes a lot of sense. Flacco is going to have a lot of quick reads available to him and will be able to get the ball out fast. The Ravens offense may be good enough to keep up with their secondary deficiencies.
Derek Mason has to be slowing down.....he was on the cusp of retirement this year. I don't think he'll be as dangerous as some people think.
Bring Eric Smith up on Boldin, he will start running backwards. Then Revis on Mason and Cro on Housh. No problem.
Looks like they may try to trade Clayton now? https://twitter.com/RossTuckerNFL I'm far from a newsbreaker but hearing some rumors that Ravens WR Mark Clayton may be available via trade not that they got Housh.
Good signing for the Ravens. Give Ozzie and the braintrust there credit, in one year they turned the receiving core from a weakness to a strength. Flacco now has a ton of weapons at his disposal.
Reading the Ravens real forum (at talk . baltimoresun . com), they think Housch is the deal breaker that guarantees them Monday night's game. Realistically, how much of their offensive scheme can the guy pick up in a week, not to mention getting his timing down with Flacco? I say that's going to take awhile.
Lol, got told by a Raven fan today that he thought Houshmandzadeh would sign with them. Hardly elite anymore. Wonder what that douche Ravens fan will think of it, you know the one...'Sarncheese'
The Ravens got Housh today, the Jets got Darrelle Revis Both teams got better, one got A LOT better. One got a solid at this point in his career WR, the other got the best defensive player in the NFL.
What about Rice, Heap, Dickson, and Pitta? This game won't even be close. Ravens by 28. Yeah, I'm a Raven fan. CM
Mason may very well be their 3rd or 4th option at this point. I think he can beat most nickel or dimebacks. Keep in mind that they also have Heap and Rice as passing options as well. The Ravens do not run what I would call a west coast offense, but I can certainly see them taking on characteristics of one this season. They have a number of pass-catching options with great hands that are more quick than fast. Considering how Flacco's ability to read defenses is still questionable, I can see the Ravens having him only read half the field on a 3 step drop with nearly all of those reads being short or intermediate routes. Stallworth will be used to stretch the field, but I think he is more of a threat to keep defenses honest.
