11.5 million per year is actually less than I expected, but the Guaranteed portion was more than I expected so I guess that balances out. Hopefully it's not a big signing bonus otherwise we're setup for another Revis hold out in 2 years.
btw I'd say both sides won on this, Revis came in for far less than the 16 million per year he wanted but Revis got a large part of the contract on Guaranteed money. Still waiting to see the specifics though
Absolutely thrilled that this is finally over, still annoyed it took this long but whatever. I'm not sure why Rex wasn't face to face with the family earlier. I can't imagine anyone ever says no to Rex Ryan. I expect him to be in shape and ready to go, I also expect that he will be looking to restore his reputation and he will do that on the field. Lets Go!! Now I'm excited about the season. This whole BS put a damper on my excitement.
Based on the rumors this was entirely a Jets win all the way. The same contract offered 2 months ago.
I went to sleep completely miserable over this team. The releases of Richardson and Washington really bothered me. To wake up and hear this on ESPN absolutely floored me. I am feeling much much better.

He does have (a bit of) a point. I think it's dangerous to start Revis on the back on little or no playing time. His pre-season camp was several weeks ago now.

Tanny and Rex made Revis's agent their little bitches. This is a total Jets victory. The only possible problem is if Revis gets injured seriously since we guaranteed him all that money. Highly unlikely though. Obviously the fact we didn't even have to pay him the rumored 12M per year is a big deal. We now have cap space to sign some of our other key free agents in the future.
