This is a good thing. Too much damn hype around this team. Let's get the season going and rack up a lot of wins and let that be the final vindication for this team.
Well, Schelerth picks us..I guess that's why ESPN kept him off the panel even though he is the only one who actually knows football..when will you guys ever learn?
I think some of us including Rex have the right ideas, but unfortunetly we do not live in a dream world. Reality is we have a 2nd year QB who has looked awful in preseason and to me doesnt seem to be picking up the soft defenses teams run in preseason. We cut Faneca, which easily makes our o-line suspect (slauson or ducasse cannot fill that spot). And oh yeah, we don't have a man by the name Darrelle Revis playing on our defense. We finish 7-9, and miss playoffs.
Thats great !!! Why would anybody want to be the preseason pick?? Also we don't deserve it. We were mediocre at best for most of last season. Squeaked into the playoffs and had a few good games. We shouldn't be expected to make the SB this year. The coaches and the team are confident and they expect to go to the SB - that is obviously the goal. But that is also the goal for the other 31 teams.
Why do so many Jet fans get butt hurt when some douche bags on ESPN don't pick us to win something. Who gives a sh1t, I'd rather be under the radar when it comes to this type of stuff. Oh no, NFL Analyst A doesn't even have us making the playoffs, OMG what a travesty!! WHY GIVE A SH1T?!
Can you blame them? I don't see the NYJ going to the SB either.... Not after what we've seen thus far from Mark Sanchez.
There you go. Without Revis, the offense has to start scoring, and I'm not feeling it. Sanchez will have to be more than a game manager who doesn't throw INT's so often. He is no better than a barely average game manager right now. And he is still throwing INT's. If the Jets have any SB hopes at all, Sanchez has to make a big leap, into being a QB that can WIN a few games. He aint there yet.
Your a master of the obvious. However you forgot to mention that Sanchez has already made that leap in the playoffs. If he continues to play like he did in the playoffs we'll be fine with or without Mevis.
I would rather no one pick us and we win the SUPERBOWL thane everyone pick us and we lay an egg----------------ps this Revis thing must get resolved it is way to ugly
Thanks, rook. If he continues to play like he did in the preseason, he will lose games, and win none. Is that obvious too? Which Sanchez are we going to see?
These were the predictions from 2009. They just rate this stuff on fantasy football projections or something... these guys are hacks. Most of them had New England or Pittsburgh to win it all. How that worked out: Pittsburgh missed the playoffs and New England shit the bed against the Ravens. Only one person --Jeremy Green-- picked the Saints to win the NFC. NO ONE picked the Colts as an AFC Champion. So out of 16 'experts', they picked 1 superbowl team.. which J.Green had losing to the Steelers. 32 chances at picking a superbowl team and they get 1. 1/32 success rate (albeit with a losing prediction) is 3.12%. That 3% is being generous too, should be even less considering the 'knowledge' these guys have of teams that are good/bad/on the incline/decline going into the season. Lets not put too much faith in this shit. EDIT : Nail in the coffin - here's the 2008 predictions. Superbowl was Pittsburgh - Arizona. Out of the 16 writers not one person picked Arizona or Pittsburgh to be in the Superbowl. 0/32 - 0%. Averaged out over 2008-2009 they've gone 1/64 - 1.56%
Opinions are like assholes that is why every pundit on ESPN has like 50 of them. Who gives a shit what they say.
On a positive note 3/4 took the jets to win the division, and 1 picked rexy as coach of the year . But seriously how the hell can I take anyone serious who picks Joe Flacco to win nfl MVP ? I Mean I love the Ravens, and I think Flacco is everything you could ask for in a young QB, but theres not a god damn chance on the planet. Hes hot and cold and his favorite reciever is Ray Rice. How can you even consider giving a QB who prefers to dump the ball to the HB in the flats more often than anything MVP ? I just find that so absurd
Haha, I had no idea that was him. So the only guy who picked a SB team on ESPN is no longer with the network and likes kiddie porn.
Only one person picked Miami to win the division. Ouch. Oh wait....I don't care what the "experts" think....
