We could have gone 13-3 last year.

    Bills game well.....

First Dolphins game we shoulda stopped them

    The Jaguars game the same

    Falcons game

It showed though in the playoffs that we were really one of the upper elite teams.

To answer the question, you kind of have to define "real deal."

Do I think that the Jets are a lock to win the division? No.
Do I think that the Jets are a lock to win 10 games? Yes.

Do I think that the Jets are the best team in the conference? No.
Do I think that the Jets could very conceivably win the Super Bowl? Yes.

As much as it's a cliche, the whole "any given Sunday" mantra is true. There's too much wackiness and parity in the NFL to accurately predict much. All I can really say with certainty is that the Jets have enough good talent and coaching that if things break right for them, they can absolutely win the whole thing.

But you could say the exact same thing about 3 or 4 other teams in the AFC alone.

The Jets are definitely the real deal. They might go 7-9 or 9-7 due to injuries or bad playcalling in the event that Sanchez is not quite ready yet but the expectation is that they could go to the Super Bowl this year with a few breaks going their way. That's the real deal.

Yep. We tied them 10-10. Sanchez handed them 14 points. We were the only team Brees played against that he didn't score a TD.

    Absolutely true...and fixed...

Missing. I believe it stands for absence without leave. Like when a soldier comes home for a weekend and decides to not report back to his unit

We never tied them 10-10, we were doen 17-0 and made it 17-10 and had the ball near midfield. he definitely cost us that game but that was to be expected for a few games his rookie year.

    The Jets are for real.

Yes, Sanchez being a rookie is why the team didn't win more games last year, but the defense didn't do its job in the closing minutes either.

I feel this team will be much more complete. The offense will not breakout until a few weeks go by in the season, but that's expected. Even Jim Leonhard thinks so, and Jim is a student of the game. He understands it, he practices against that offense.

Expect tough games. It'll seem like the Jets play down to their opponents level, but in fact its going to be the opponents playing up to the Jets level. If they don't, expect big wins.

The first team D has given up one TD because the Giants started on the goaline. Other than that they've been stellar. I expect that all season, but I'd like for them to close out games, or for the offense to not put them in that situation.

I do expect a lot less turnovers from the offense. Both QB INTs and WR fumbles.

Sanchez was due in that game to finally have a tough outing.

He looked stellar for the first 3 because there was no tape on him. Then a good pass rush and a smart veteran safety got the best of him.

But it was still a decent rookie season.

Sanchez essetially lost 5 games by himself last year.

In those games he put so much pressure on the defense between short fields for the opposition and not giving the defense time to rest.

The special teams lost the Miami game.

This team could go anywhere from 7-9 to 13-3 depending on Sanchez and if schotty has game plans like he had in the playoffs. Unless the defense is getting ran off the field the coaches should not be putting the game into Sanchez hands to lose or win.

Miami 1 and the Jaguars the defense allowed their running games to march the length of the field in the closing seconds.

I think he had a good rookie season, his overall #s weren't good but they were skewed by 3 awful games where he threw 12 of his 20 INTs and obviously he grew up in Janaury playing really well in postseason. I'm confident in Sanchez.

Better temper that confidence bud, he's entering his second year. Please don't tell me you are confident he will continue to play like in the playoffs throughout the entire season.

I expect he'll still have his bad moments and games and he'll cost us a game here and there but I am confident we can win this division and beyond w/ him as our QB in 2010. I think he will be alot more consistent this year overall.

If he plays like he did in the playoffs all year and we get Revis back I'll start making plans for Arlington in February.
