http://twitter.com/TheJetsStream/statuses/22436067492 BREAKING: #Jets Calvin Pace out about 6 weeks with broken right foot, according to source. Big blow for #NYJ. #nfl
How is that such a big blow? Pace is good, but they got along just fine last season without him for four games. And Jason Taylor provides better depth than the guy who was Paces backup last season - Vernon Gholston.
Damn,I could of seen Pace reaching double digit sacks this year. But on the bright side, this is our only injury worry and it's happened in a position where we have depth.
Damn... Pace was our best OLB on the team by far... can we put him on the PUP list and have him come back after 6 weeks? PS What do we do now? Taylor on passing plays and Westerman on obvious running plays?
sure, but if he is only out 6 weeks from now, he will only miss 4 games. So he will be simply listed injured as opposed to placed on the PUP which will mean he misses the first 6 games automatically.
good thing you guys did grab JT, although teams will try to run straight at him as they have done throughout his career. I still think he has enough to be solid for you guys
I remember how hungry he was when came back after 4 games. Unlucky for him, but it could give us a fresh player after about 4 games, hopefully.
Time for Ghost to step up. With Calvin out there won't be any room to use Taylor at DE in certain packages, so we should see a lot more of him in the rotation. Tanny's gonna have to hit the waiver wire hard cuz we're lookin thin on the front seven.
I didn't really want them to sign A. Thomas, but it might be time to go out and bring him in. Hopefully he is keeping himself in shape. He'll need to play a lot in the last preseason game. Revis also needs to get back into camp, our pass rush just took a hit and the corners are going to get a little bit more exposed with less pressure on the QB!
This reminds me of when Chrebet got injured in the pre season prior to the 99 season. Coming off an AFC Championship Game and losing a starting player for multiple weeks hmy:
Gotta bring in a guy like Adalius Thomas now in a Coles type situation, imo. Unless they have supreme confidence in Westermann, because I don't think Taylor should be playing 100% of the snaps.
