Damn that sucks, did anyone else see Jenkins carrying him over his back by himself? If it was a serious injury why was he doing that?
Man that sucks. Saw Jenkins carrying him on the sideline, and figured, it can't be that serious, but it is.
That sucks, I haven't heard much about him though. I don't know if that is good or bad (not hearing about him).
Thats sucks I feel bad for him going down in a pre season game like that, when I saw Jenkins carrying him I didnt think it would be that serious. He was a nice part of our dept.
As much as it sucks ill take us losing him, than being like the pats and losing someone like Warren for the year.
Too bad for a guy who apparently busted his ass to get the respect from the coaching staff. Get well Ropati!
http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/1271/pitoitua-suffers-season-ending-injury Backup DE Ropati Pitoitua, a promising young player whom the Jets were counting on to provide depth on the defensive line, tore an Achilles' tendon Saturday night and will be lost for the season. This creates a depth issue for the Jets, who opted not to re-sign veteran DE Marques Douglas, who landed with the Miami Dolphins. Beyond their top four -- Shaun Ellis, Kris Jenkins, Mike DeVito and Sione Pouha -- the Jets have Vernon Gholston, Matt Kroul, Rod Wright, Jason Lamb and Martin Tevaseu. In other words, they have issues. Did someone say Adalius Thomas? The former New England Patriot and Baltimore Raven, a Rex Ryan favorite from their years in Baltimore, still is looking for a team. Thomas is an outside linebacker, but he has the versatility to play defensive end in certain packages.
He can in packages...but so can Thomas, Pace, and Taylor. Too bad Douglas signed elsewhere. Now, Kroul becomes closer to a lock to make the final roster, and Wright's chances definitely go up.
