Well since I don't work there any more I can tell my Sid/Jeremy Shockey story. As many here know I used to be Director of Security for a major retailer. About 6 years ago I was running the Manhattan location. One of the major duties there was Special Events. Meaning we'd have celebrities and proathletes in a few times a week to do signings and promote whatever product they were endorsing. So Shockey was in to promote something or other, I don't remember who the sponsor was, but the sponsor thought it would be a good idea to have a live interview so they brought in WFAN without telling Shockey. WFAN sent Sid to interview him. Now, at the time Fatso had been berating Shockey on air for his behaviour... much like what he's doing to the Jets now. Shockey, who is a complete fucking asshole in real life, pulls out a bottle of Grey Goose from his jacket in the green room and starts slugging it back with a buddy he brought with him. This is at noon. Since I was in charge of setting up the guards and running the lines and moving the "talent" I always stayed by the "talent's" side. We're in the green room and the girl incharge of Special Events comes in and tells Shockey they're ready for the interview. Shockey asks what interview. She tells him "with WFAN". Shockey freaks the fuck out. Jumps up and starts screaming about WFAN calling everyone cunts. He says if he sees anyone from the station he's tossing them out the window. We were on the 9th floor. So now I'm panicked because I have a hopped up tight end who's ready to kill and we're just a department store. The events people, as they always did when they fucked up, turned to us to clean up their mess. I go outside the green room and there's Sid standing there pale faced. I told him it's not a good idea to try to talk to him. Sid then breaks into a rant of his own, "This is all Mike's fault!!!! I'm a Giants fan!!!" So then the door opens because someone else tried to leave the room and Sid and Shockey made eye contact. Sid then start pleading with Shockey from the doorway and throws Francesca under the bus, "It's not the station it's Mike!!! We all hate him!!! We tried to get him to tone it down but he does whatever he wants!!! Please!! I'm a Giants fan!!!" Shockey yells back, "I don't give a fuck!!! Leave!!!" Then the door was slammed shut on him. I then told Sid it's best if he just gets out of the store and walked him out. The last thing Sid said was "I'm going to the bar". Needless to say Shockey wasn't signing anything at that point and since he was pretty lit at that point we didn't want him either so he left as well. Thank God because he's one big motherfucker.

Haha... I wish... that's the only one about the WFAN... Someday I'll tell the one where I told J-Lo's manager to go back the bodega in the Bronx and take her with him...
I'm sure JFaulk is as upset about this as the rest of us. He's probably making some face like this kid here right about now:

If Shockey honored his contract w/ WFAN there never would have been a dispute. he was contracted to be on the air once a week and do a promo w/ a sponsor. He would frequently miss his calls and then a big promo they did where the winner would get to have lunch w/ Shockey Jeremy again decided not to show. You could understand why Francessa and the folks at WFAN would be pissed at him? A major reason Mike hates the Jets is b/c the Jets left WFAN I believe after the 2000 season.
That sounds about right...That story does ring a bell... I did say Shockey was a total asshole... I just found it hilarious Sid threw Mike right under the bus...
