He'll go in the first two rounds of most standard drafts, but I wouldn't take him in the first two rounds in a 12 team league. There are much better options than Greene that early in the draft. He simply carries too much risk to go that high.
I did an Auction last night and got him for $25 bucks, and then did a snake later and he was taken at pick 37...People were skipping him and then I grabbed him.
Again, it depends on the league. In a non-PPR league, if you really like Greene, round 1 isn't even that terrible. We're going to run the crap out of the ball still, and Greene's going to be the main guy for that. If you trust him to stay healthy and run well, he should put up big numbers. But he won't catch any passes, so in PPR, he loses a lot of upside.
I am freakin hoping he is there in the second when I pick, I am in a non ppr league so I hope all these clowns take QB's and pass on him..
In our league backs always seem to get scooped up fat. I expect him to be gone by the end of the 1st. (my brother picks @ 14, then 15, so he'll be gone )
Greene is not goign in the first, I don't understadn where that's coming from. His ADP is in round 2 With 10 teams in standard scoring, the first 5 picks will be CJ, AP, MJD, and Ray Rice then you'll be looking at either Gore, Jackson, Mathews, Mendenhall and maybe Deangelo or can start thinking about Rodgers, Brees, Manning or even Andre Johnson. Greene doesn't catch the ball ann he'll have LT and McKnight ready to step in any time. Mendenhall really has nobody, he'll be the 3rd down back, same with Mathews. Sproles will gt some looks but Mathews can play on 3rd down as well. Andre Johnson has a first round ADP right now but Moss, Wayne, Johnson, Austin, and Fitzgerald all have ADPs higher than Greene. If you absolutely have to have him then take him in round 1 but I think that if you are pickignin the middle of a round tyou can get him in the second. Greene in the first is a major reach and if you are playing to win, I'd be able to live with not getting him. He has question marks anyway....he gets hurt, and if Sanchez isn't better then he'll be up against 8 man fronts all season.
it depends a lot on what site people are drafting from. in every yahoo mock i've participated in, he's always gone by the end of the first. he goes before mathews. deangelo, sjax. in espn mocks, he's consistently going in the middle/end of the second round. i rarely ever see him go in the first on there. it was pretty strange to see the difference.
I know it's preseason, but from what I've seen so far, I think LT is easily the better value. As for Matthews, I still don't know what to make of him. I have a buddy out in SD that says Tolbert/Hester will see a lot of goal line carries to keep Matthews fresh. I draft 11th and outside of Brees/Rodgers sliding, I think WR-WR early and coming back with Best, Beanie or Thomas might be my best play.
