Yes. They don't need to film the actual meeting for the entire thing to be considered posturing. They met at a reknowned diner on Rt. 17. Ever heard of an exterior shot?

Haha. That'd be a great big F-you to the Revis camp, locking up Mangold or Harris.

Ok ive been reading for like an hour since page 62 and the only thing i found interesting enough to comment on seriously was back when everyone was saying how the Jets would be able to do without Revis blah blah blah. About beating the colts, the Championship game.

Anyway not really to do with Revis cuz this is the same drabbled shit thats been going on for to long now.

Yes Peyton Manning and crew ripped us apart and yes i saw people talking about how our improved offense and Sanchez should be able to overcome what we were missing last year.

Anyone else think that had Greene not gotten hurt our offense would have been good enough last year to keep Manning off the field just enough for us to squeak by even if they still turned on the burners like they did? Thats how i felt during and after the game.

What if he lives up to it?

And when has that ever been the case. Who has ever played for this team since Woody has been the owner, had a massive contract, and hasn't had that contract reduced or been cut to save the money?

    Pennington's contract was reduced.

    Ellis' contract was reworked twice.

Brandon Moore was cut and resigned for less.

There's always a way for talented management to get out from under money problems. Tannenbaum has been a pro at that.

    That would be pretty funny.

Tanny and Woody lock up Mangold and Harris next week on the same day, everyone all smiles at the press conference. lol.

These two sides have been discussing this for 8 months and they are meeting in a frikken diner on Rt 17. These are not serious negotiations.

If what we read is to be believed, representatives from the parties met a diner, had a patty melt and Revis' people handed the Jets people a 3 page term sheet that reflected the same basic position that had been taking previously. If the point was to just hand over a term sheet, why bother to even meet face to face??? you could just email that over if that was all that was happening. Much less if you are going to meet just to hand over a 3 page term sheet, why bother to meet at a public place like a reknonwed diner? Makes no sense unless its somehow being done for the benefit of hard knocks.

Understand the thought and believe you an optimist.

I would rather have Revis back in the fold and have all be right with the Jets.

That's a really tough argument to make. The Jets were only leading by 3 when Greene went down early in the 3rd. Having him on the field for the whole game most certainly should have helped the Jets put some more points on the board. Not being able to run the ball effectively is exactly what stalled the offense for the rest of the game. It put the pressure on a rookie QB which is never what you want to see in the AFCC.

However, when we have a battering ram type of RB like Greene, the Jets have to plan for injuries. This includes making sure the defense is adequately equipped to handle the opponents' offense.

We don't believe you. You need more people.

Clearly they were just reading lines from the HBO script.

Greene doesn't play defense. The Colts found a soft spot in the secondary and exploited it. Ideally the best defense is keeping Manning off the field but he eventually would have been on it. No Strickland, worthwhile Sheppard and Coleman was our downfall.

To me Woody has cheaped out on every stud player this team has had to pay as a top player or coach in the league. Parcells, Keyshawn, Belicheck, any first class head coach in their many coaching searches. Heck this is the first head coach we have had that has been a coordinator for more than a season. I know we have Calahan - but we got him at a bargain since he was at the bottom of his career. I have a serious question. What player have the Jets paid at the top or in the top 3 at his position since Woody has been the owner? Woody is a goofy business man and not a football team owner, imho.

D'Brick is definitely top 3 money wise, and I believe Faneca and Pace had top contracts when the Jets signed them.

I still think we're hear about another offer from the Jets camp before the end of Training Camp.

Neil Schwartz said that his proposal "addressed all parties' issues, concerns." The proposal addressed those concerns, but Tanny said that there's still a fundamental disagreement as to what a fair compensation would be.

The Revis Camp seemed to have conceded a small amount, now it's up to the Jets camp to do something. The next offer should be interesting.

Both were major contributing factors. Losing Greene changed the necessities of the game considerably.

Still, it's impossible to keep Manning off of the field for the whole game. Either he makes it back on the field when the Jets score or the Jets have to punt and then Manning finds a weakness in the secondary...or all three of them.

One shutdown corner wasn't enough to do it last season, and as of right now that is all we have. Jason Taylor can help this defense out a lot and having Jenkins and Pouha to switch out will help but neither of them cover.
