Rex just said that Gholston may be the strongest guy on the team now. Rex said "He's is a load"

If he has any chance of succeeding, this new position is it.

Yep. He should have never been asked to be an OLB.

I'm really hoping he works out here. I like him and want him to be a dominant player.

He's not an OLB, so it was rediculous to ask him to move there in the first fucking place.

It's a good thing he's so strong. Gholston is going to have to pick himself up out of a deep depression after getting cut.

Gholston was always a workout warrior, his combine numbers were off the charts, but it never translated into being a good football player.

I don't think anyone's giving him props, just being hopeful. At least I hope it's hope and not props. SO HELP ME IF ANYONE IS GIVING PROPS.

I still believe that being asked to play a new position is what held him back. We'll see this year for sure though.

yeah i'm not a big fan of converting college players to convert to a new position in the nfl.

hopefully something is done, and well he pretty much is officially a bust...but it could be changed.

He's in as much position to succeed now as he'll ever be. Back at his natural position, on a great defense with everything around him. If he can't do it now I don't know when/where he can.

I still think Vernon is a POS, and deserves to get his ass kicked by some MMA fighter just to see how much of a "load" Vernon truly is, i'm looking forward to seeing this guy, I really hope he proves me wrong and my perception of him

Actually I don't remember, what was the reasoning behind moving him to LB?

Mangina said it was a size issue right?

If we get what we drafted him for this year that would be like signing a Pro Bowl DE without having to shell out extra money.

    It's a win/win.

3-4 DE isn't his natural position. As long as the Jets run a 3-4 Base, he will always have an excuse for 'playing out of position'.

I don't think there's much thinking involved in being a 3-4 DE, at least not as much as an OLB. Perfect for a dumbass meathead.

I guess, but asking him to do nothing but get after the QB seems like a pretty simple task. Considering they have enough talent to be the #1 defense without him, I'd say it's as set up for him now as it ever will be. To me if you can play football you can play football, whatever scheme it is. The Jets have guys walking around all over this D anyway, it's not always as cut and dried as 4-3 or 3-4.
