i saw a guy in a coles jersey already...

earlier in this thread I was totally opposed to this move...

I will say this after seeing coles 4 game statement....if this is going to be a 4 game stint then I am fine with that...anything beyond 4 games (barring injury) is a wasted roster spot.

it would seem with the sudden inability of joe mcknight to pass the running portion of his physical (still baffled by this) we may want to consider carrying 4 RBs. although if we carry both T Rich and John Conner, I'm sure Conner can carry the ball on occasion.

Loving the signing, will he take 87 from clowney, or wear #11?

Coles, hahaha. I knew it was in the works, but that's too much. I always liked Coles. Total gamer; I just hate public kvetching. Been posted on here way back in the day, but the first game I saw after corrective brain surgery was Jets vs. Redskins in Sept. 2003. The opener. I stayed at my bro-in-law's house in MA for quite a spell, because I had to be in proximity to the hospital in Boston in case anything took a bad turn.

Anyway, I had a ton of packing in my left nostril (literally), fighting the massive pukes (awful), on massive painkillers watching the game with one eye open because that's all I could manage. "Laveranues Coles - HIGH SCHOOL." Of course the goddamn Jets lost. What else?!

This is a fine 4 game signing. I mean what is there to lose?

I Loooooooooooove this signing even if its only for four games! I was always a huge LC fan. Voted team MVP in 2006 for a reason, great to have him back, again!!

4 game signing , a true modern day jets great and he is a well respected locker room guy.
Always played his heart out in green , remember 08 when he had the high ankle and literally played on one leg

A lot of people were Coles fans when he could still play football. The hint there is that he still didn't have a team a day before the final camps open.

We can all say that this is for the first 4 games but I would keep it all year, 4 WR sets are going to be deadly. Sanchez has tons of weapons this year.

I'm not sure what you mean by "we can all say", Coles said the Jets told him they're likely cutting him after week 4.

Maybe they will give Coles #11 before even cutting Kellen Clemens just as they gave Boomer Esiason #7 before letting Ken O'Brien know he was cut.

The Jets didn't work Laveraneus out over the phone. They know what they got. The guy's gonna run slants, sit/hook in dead spots, etc., put some 3rd and short-medium shots away and keep the chains moving. Determined, experienced pro with a little Steve Smith "grit" in him--he'll fill whatever role they have in mind.
