I'm starting to wonder if they are just punishing him for being such a douche with the bonus thing. That guy's life is gonna be hell for the next few weeks. Shanahan is going to wear his ass out. He might turn out better for it though.
It's that kind of thing that drives me crazy. Tanny is a very smart guy. But sometimes you have to wonder why that sort of thing doesn't go into his equation. Reminds me of when the Jets picked up Ramsey in 06. A former first round pick, the Jets got him for a great deal, and the thought was he would be the backup Qb. Of course he had been playing for Joe Gibbs, who was leting him go. Now I think Gibbs is a sack of crap, and he failed in his second turn in the league. But did the Jets have reason to think they knew more about Ramsey than Joe Gibbs? No.
It's bad enough to fail but coming off puking and being out of shape at mini camp. This is a guy who RIGHT NOW is not taking his job seriously. He's young, he can turn it around but as of this moment he is not taking his job seriously and it could hurt the team.
It happens, I'm sure Rosenhaus has ripped teams before. Who cares what his wife has to say? They were upset about leaving this team, Leon was too classy to say anything and someone who is close to him spoke up for him. I have no problem w/ what she said.
Or too seriously, hence the nerves. One way or the other he needs to sort himself out pronto. Where does this leave us at HB though? LT - May or may not still have enough left. The CS think so, so thats good enough for me. Greene - Plays hard and doesn't seem to be able to take the punishment that that kind of running gets. Woodhead - WR , HB ST'er ???? Chauncey Washington - May be able to grab his chance should McPuke fail. But still an unknown quantity. McKnight - Seems to have all the tools, but also has work ethic problems. By mid season we could be in all kinds of trouble
I don't get it - If it were me, THIS IS YOUR ONE SHOT AT GREATNESS... I would have lived at Jets camp all summer, I would have tried to get into Fitzgeralds Camp, I would have begged Sanchez to allow me to Cali for his camp.... I would have wanted to train with LT to see if he still does his legendary workouts... There would be no doubt that I worked my tail off and was in the best possible shape I was ever in and absorbed as much from Vets as I coud.... THIS is it - You play your cards right and work your tail of and you could be set up for life - You smoke and take it anything less that 100% and you'll be broke in less than 2 years selling cars.
McKnight failing his pre-training camp conditioning test is disturbing, especially after puking all over the field at OTA's... What has he done since then?? Apparently not to much in the way of physically preparing for football... with all the questions we have at HB, and yes there are MANY questions at HB, this does not give the warm fuzzies about this guy.
Being a drafted player gives him more than one shot. If he was a UDFA and this happened, he'd be out on his ass.
the season is 6 weeks away, he will be in the best shape of his life by then ... lord knows how many incoming rookies failed these kinds of test before the days of twitter
I hated the Leon trade/McKnight pick when it happened and nothing to happen since then has changed my opinion. I think the Jets blew this one big time.
Leon Washington has a metal rod in his leg. Joe McKnight doesn't. Leon Washington demanded a ridiculous contract. Joe McKnight is inexpensive. I could go on and on and on...
