Koa Misi was a solid draft pick, but he's not a pass rusher. He's got the ability crank out 4 to 5 sacks a year, but I'm not sure he'll ever be a double digit sack guy. However, I think he'll be a very good run defender. With no pressure, those young corners are going to have a tough year...especially if Tyrone Culver starts at free safety. ...and you have every right to be worried. If another defensive lineman goes down, that defense will be in serious trouble.
Marques Douglas is 33 years old and wasn't re-signed for plenty of reasons. He was a stop-gap player here. Yeah, he was pretty good against the run, but so was everyone else on our defense - his age and mediocre play led to him hitting the open market. Finally, he was a god damn rotational player. The Dolphins have three ends on their roster - those big bodies will wear down by the third quarter. It's going to be a serious problem. I didn't say Langford wasn't a solid end, but he's going to need a spell every now and then. How in the hell do you know Jared Odrick is good against the pass? ...and why does that matter when he's a 34 end? Let's be serious, man. The Dolphins only signed him because Dallas wouldn't trade them Marcus Spears. There's no way a 305 pound converted end is going to draw consistent double teams. The majority of the league's centers will be able to handle him one on one.
What's your point? He's a depth signing who was let go by 2 teams with the worst o-lines in the league last year. Stop pretending like he's some big upgrade.
Koa Misi is better defending the pass than the rush. He is a good coverage LB, and has a great motor. Chris Clemons is going to be the starting FS this year. Clemons posses great tackling skills and very good speed. He has had a good offseason/OTA's. Chris has been barking out the defensive calls in practice and taking on the leadership role the FO wanted out of him. We also get WIll Allen back.
Yeah this Richie Incognito praise is rediculous. He was only signed by Buffalo last year because of the injury to Eric Wood late in the season and we didnt have much depth behind him.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ense-will-have-to-carry-defense-early-in-2010 This should answer some questions.
This fucking guy posted a Bleacher Report article. It was only a matter of time. Jared Odrick played inside at tackle in the 4-3 at Penn State. It is not the defensive end's job to rush the passer in the 3-4. I don't see how people can't comprehend that. I can see how someone like yourself can't understand something so simple though.
http://www.boston.com/sports/football/gallery/07_23_10_risingfalling?pg=7 I think its great. The trendy pick is not the Jets, only the Jets are picking the Jets. All the media feels this way, the Dolphins are the trendy pick
The article also listed the bills as "falling". A dead cat doesn't bounce. They would have to kill their entire team and forfeit every game to be worse. Incompetent writer is incompetent
Six new starters on defense, lost there last 3 of 4, rookie QB crapped out in December and there one offensive weapon, a gimmick player is coming off of surgery. Yeah, solid pick taking the Dolphins for the AFC east. The Jets, yeah problems players all over, old RB and crappy coach. I wonder if the writer is a Pats fan
I'll point something else out to you: it's the 34 end's job to take up blockers so the 34 OLBs can get after the quarterback. I have no idea how you can't grasp this concept. Go back to FinHeaven and take your Bleacher Report articles with you. I'd also like to point out that you have an extra chromosome.
I'm still waiting for you to point out in that article where it says 34 ends jobs arent to rush the passer. Attack me personally all you want. Avoiding the question just makes you look even smarter.
