LOL...watch them send Thole down to the minors after this game, too. The only reason why they won't get shut out. "Kid, great job, you've done great the last 3 weeks, but....."
Just to watch Barajas hit .185 with 4 or 5 HRs the rest of the season. Unbelievable. As I said last night, if Thole's not going to start every day, then he should be sent down. Sitting on the bench 4 or 5 days a week will not help him. He's certainly shown he can play at this level. How about waiving Barajas? That would make too much sense for these fucking numbskulls.

And the pattern continues - Santana, Niese, and Dickey pitch well but lose close, everyone else pitches badly and loses big.

I figured Davis would get oln base just so Bay would K to end the game. It would have been more fitting that way.

Have no fear. Oliver Perez is coming back and will turn around the Mets fortunes. This guy is fuckin' great. You'll see.

We are 1-5 and were extremely close to being 0-6 since Beltran's return. If Pagan were playing CF this game he would've gotten that triple that won the game. Enough with Beltran. Trade his ass and move on. And sit BAY!! Don't tell him he has a day off....pull a Rex Ryan and sit this bitches' ass until he learns to hit again!!

I really like Thole. He seems desperate to stay here and that's refreshing.

Unfortunately, baseball does not work that way. There is a lot of political nonsense with baseball teams. "We can't sit him. He's making too much money. It'll make us look bad to sit our one big free agent acquisition. Plus, his feelings will get hurt."

Lets be fair, we have been putrid all season on the road and this road trip is just another example of it.

The problem is that we are bringing back the garbage that were weighing us down in the 1st place (Barajas, Ollie, Castillo, Bay getting his NY garbage season out of the way) and now Pelfrey went from a 1A type of pitcher to minor league quality along with a putrid offensive output

The Mets need to get their heads out of their asses. It's obvious that Bay has quit. You can see it on his face. Thole needs to start as long as he's hitting and the same goes for Pagan.

Someone needs to talk to Pelfrey because he's not going to start pitching by scolding himself. Aside from Takahashi, everyone else is pitching fine which makes the hitters look like even more of a joke.

If Minnaya doesn't make a move Wednesday night the season is over and he and Manuel should both be fired. Start dumping salary for prospects now.

Cannot believe all we are linked with at Trade deadline are mid leve pitching...this team needs run support more than anything

Bay is an absolute joke btw!

Of course they would give us the free preview week when the Mets are playing teams I can watch for free anyway. Why can't free preview week be when they play the Reds, Pirates and Cardinals?

As for last night's game, what else can be said that hasn't been said. No clutch hitting, another fine performance by Dickey with no support and we get shut down by a guy who was pitching in Double A few weeks ago.

Just for the record this is the first time since early June that the DBacks have won back to back games a span of 29 games.

So poor Dickey... yesterday I posted about how Santana has given up 0 or 1 run in 12 of his 20 starts yet only won 6 of them yet in Dickey's 12 starts he has given up 3 or less runs in 9 of them yet has only 6 wins.

Think about that... 2 of our 5 pitchers have given up 3 or less runs in 21 games yet only have 12 wins in those 21 games. I'm just curious now to look at Niese.

In 16 starts Niese has been bad in 4 of them, thoe other 12 he has given up 3 or less ERs and has only won 6 of them.

So that's now 33 starts in which Santana, Dickey and Niese have given up 3 or less ER and the team has only 18 wins between them in those starts. That tells me two things, your run support sucks and your bullpen sucks.

Edit: Santana gave up 2 runs in a game against Atlanta on May 18 so in 34 starts that is 18 wins by the 3 starters in which they gave up 3 or less runs.

Somebody explain to me how on Earth this team albiet unrealisitically still has a shot at the playoffs?

Pagan hit a home run before.
Then the D-backs hit two home runs.

I noticed the same thing. He has no chance to hit anything on the outside of the plate.

Bought me a pack of 1987 Topps cards tonight. I ate the gum. Yummy in my tummy.

I got six former Mets in the pack- Frank Viola, "Frank Fucko" (that was my father's nickname for John Franco), Rick Cerone, Tom O'Malley, Willie Randolph, and Nolan Ryan.
