Also I might like to add the divisional records of those Cincy and SD Cincy of course was 6-0 in the AFC North and SD was i believe 5-1 in the division and came in on an 11 game win streak when we beat them.
The overwhelming majority of fins fans were cock sure the Jets had zero chance of winning either of those games prior to them going off. After we won it was because they both sucked. If we had beat the Colts it would have been because Manning is a choker.
Some outsiders like to come on here and bust the balls on anyone who does a "preview" stating the Jets are a possible Super Bowl contender. That could be correct..but its the off season and its good reading. Everyone has an opinion. With that said, looking at the two ROSTERS, anyone that has this guys opinion is clearly on drugs. While nobody would be shocked if Miami ends up with a better record than the Jets (its the NFL...shit happens) this guys reasons are either drug related or intended to get a rise out of Jet Nation...which is so friggin easy to do.
I have to agree. I do think the Dolphins could win some games in the regular season. But, I think they're too conservative for the post-season
Imartins74...Unfortunately you are probably right. Defensively we should be much more aggressive. However Dan Henning seems mortally opposed to want to stretch the field vertically on the offensive side of the football. I think the offense will open up much more with Marshall on the outside; hopefully Henne doesn't take too much of Pennington's advice as far as the check-down game, and Henning opens the envelope up a little bit. I actually think we can have success against the Jets when we spread them out. I'll stand by my thoughts on Cromartie not being able to cover Davone Bess and Greg Camarillo. I really like Kyle Wilson a lot, (I think he's the next Asante Samual) but I think he will need a year or 2 to develop. Remember that he is going from an inferior college conference to the NFL level. He certainly impressed in Senior Bowl week, however, the NFL game is different than a week of half-practice at the Senior Bowl and against a limited offense in the game. I'm not going to make an official prediction until we come out of camp and all the depth chart/injury stuff comes to light. But I don't think it's too out there to think Miami can win this division with 10-11 wins.

I HATE your team, BUT I also have a lot of respect for your team, and can recognize talent when I see it. I coach high school football and am involved with the game year round so I would venture to say I know quite a bit about the game. Your team has the talent to bring home the bacon. I just hope you don’t .
And it has to do with the end of last season...the team addressing a few weaknesses...another year in the system...a qb that grew in the playoffs. With that said, its dangerous to think anything is guaranteed. Like I mentioned, its the NFL. The Dolphins are a question of who is the real Henne. If he also grows and is a very solid qb, you never know. Too many crazy things happen in a 16 game season for me to be surprised if the Jets finish 9-7 and the Dolphins finish 11-5. The Dolphins did add some solid players. Seems like the NFL is filled with up one season down the next...unless you are an elite team. Are the Jets there yet? We will find out I guess.
I think we all should realistically know how tight our division is going to be, no matter how good or poor the teams are playing the head to head is always close, I love our team but I rather have all these experts and I use that term loosely pick against us, I think it just works out better that way.

I don't know if Miami is quite ready to reach the Super Bowl, but we should be in the 2010 playoff race. Our weakest link in 2009 was the defense, and they've done a solid job this off-season rebuilding / adding to it. Hiring DC M. Nolan doesn't hurt either. He could actually prove to be our most valuable off-season addition when all is said and done... The offense is somewhat of an unknown. The OL is very solid, and Henne should benefit a lot from the addition of Marshall. As for Brown / Williams, IF both can stay healthy, they should be highly productive, but that's a BIG IF. The WR's {beyond Marshall} aren't very flashy, but they're all pretty solid. Bess / Camarillo / Hartline proved they can get open, and they all have very good hands. Adding Marshall should make them even better... I think a lot will depend on our RB's, and IF they can stay healthy or not. You never know, our whole offense could start to fall apart, especially if Brown goes down {as usual}. There's no way Williams can carry this offense, no way. Overall, Miami is still a couple years away from becoming a SB contender. We have a lot of young, hungry, solid pieces in place, but we aren't quite there yet in my opinion... ~BK~
I could not disagree more, you lost your only speed thread in Ginn and you don't have a real pass catching tight end thread. Our defense can lineup against your offense now pretty easily. You have no true down field threat. Marshall was a great pickup, but to me he's just the ultimate possession receiver
