could this team have put together one of the best D's in NFL history? comparable to 2001 Ravens?? our pass/run D looks scary on paper talent wise...theres no weak spots with Jenkins back
Personally I don't care if numbers end up historic or not. I just don't want anymore fuckin blown 4th quarter leads. Replayed the Falcons game last night and wanted to kick a puppy.
Simple Answer is, yes. It all depends on if they play good defense though, if they don't then the simple answer would be no. So, it's a toss up.
We only have two real starters on the Defensive Line. Ghost has to prove himself for now. Our LBs are very good, but wouldn't put them near best in the NFL or the 2001 Ravens. Where we do have and edge is the secondary. Hands down, we have the best secondary in the NFL. We may be better than last year, but we have to prove that we didn't 'overachieve' last year as far as the defensive stats goes. I think we'll be better than last year, but it'll be tough this year with the schedule we have.
I don't know about the best in NFL history, but who knows. Until the season starts, nobody knows. I def think the Jets will be in the top 5. With the schedule in front of you it could go either way, as there are some good passing/running teams your going to face.
the jets defense is so good they don't even need to play a single game next season... the jets defense is so good that they can field 10 guys, and still shut a team out ..
Most years, I would laugh and call you a homer. With most Jets coaches, I would laugh and call you a homer. But I've been thinking about it lately, and I think it's quite likely that not only does Rex Ryan have the goal of fielding one of the best offenses ever - he also has the ability.
You started out so well as a poster - and now you're just a typical piece of shit Pats fan. Color me unsurprised.
I think your D took a step back from last year. Kerry Rhodes is gone. No real replacement. Kris Jenkins is coming off an injury and there is no guarantee he'll be back to 100%. I also don't buy into the Cromartie move. His biggest weakness is defending the short/intermediate passing game which he will have to face through out the division. While Revis is covering Marshall and Moss, he'll be on Bess, Welker, etc. I don't see how it works out. I still think you have a top 5 defense...But I don't see it topping last year's.
