I love Electric Wizard! Overall, I think the their best album is "Witchcult Today". Although my favorite songs are Dopethrone & ...A Chosen Few (Let Us Prey). Call it whatever you want, metal, doom, stoner metal, sludge etc. they're f'n great. Wish they'd play in the States.

Latest "High On Fire" album is solid metal (not as good as "Surrounded by Theives", but still heavy good). Great band as well.

Rumor has it that "SLEEP" (former High On Fire and Om members) are playing in NYC and Philly in September.

Here's an old one, the NJ band Edgar Cayce (Prophet) back in 1991 at the Birchhill in Old Bridge playing the Metallica cover of Breadfan (an old Budgie tune from the 70's) These guys kicked ass back in the day...

Going to see Cynic on August 6 at the Bowery Ballroom. My friends got VIP meet & greet tickets - luckily those sold out so I wasn't pressured into getting those for me and my girlfriend.

I saw High on Fire here in Tulsa with Mastodon. They killed.

    I've been listening to:

Kylesa - Black Tusk - Baroness.

    They all rule.

I've seen Baroness the last two times they came to NYC, great shows.

What the hell are you doing in Tulsa?

Took a teaching job here in the Midwest. Tulsa's actually a great place to live.

Yeah, HoF is a favorite of mine. I have to wait a while to be able to see them play again here.

3 days until Cynic. They're playing Focus and Traced in Air from front to back. I'm probably going to get a contact high from the rest of the audience smoking up.

I've been getting into Kylesa lately. They'll be playing a festival with High On Fire in March over here and it's rumoured Maiden and Slayer. Will kill for Maiden tickets again and Slayer are always fun. I'm just shitty that Baroness decided to tour with Metallica.

So is this Metal as in Iron Maiden type stuff only or does it include grunge / industrial? If so i am in ...if not enjoy !!

If its the latter off to see Alice in chains in Sept in Chicago , cannot wait . Think there new stuff is great bearing in mind what they have been through

Also if you get chance listen to the new Serj Tankian album , its totally different to S.O.A.D but its definetly good stuff!

I remember buying the first Cynic album (the one w/ Veil of Maya - it was different, but i liked it) and Sleep's "Holy Mountain" on cassette on the same day in the early 90's. thought i was taking a huge risk and it panned out nicely. I'll be seeing Sleep in Sept. at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple (just hope they play some songs from Vol. 1 - although i believe it said they were playing Holy Mountain and some Dopesmoker).

Never got around to hearing Cynic's other album. Any good?
