Such a great article. The guy was basically trying to get the ire of Jets fans. He spent more time explaining why the Jets weren't going to be in the post season than he did explaining why the Phins and Texans would make it combined. 'See above'.
He plays for the texans, should he say they are going to suck? and is it crazy to think a team that missed the playoffs by one game could actually make it the next year? Again, how are we going to pin it up when our players and coaches do so much talking? Our guys will be ready to play, not b/c a Texans player flipped a coin and picked us out of the playoffs. After losing at Miami we weren't sleeping on them up here and we still lost.
"see above" was a refernce to points 1 and 2. he wriote the most on those 2 teams. he's not a writer, he is a guest writer for peter King while he is on vacation. compared to this on the Jets
He has every right to believe in his team....but be objective about it....the "flipping a coin" explanation is fucking stupid. Because the Texans have been on the cusp for about 3 years now...it certainly is "crazy" to think they'll make the playoffs until it actually happens. There's nothing wrong with extra motivation, junc.....players do get complacent sometimes. our special teams were asleep in the 2nd game, junc....hell, i could RUN thru a Woodhead ST tackle.
Well said. Overreactions are the norm around here though. Every thing any idiot writes becomes BIG NEWS. ..... Yawn, is it september yet?
Wow, that was pretty funny Why don't you try and keep up in the discussion. Another poster made the following statement: "After last year's sweep....i'm confident the Jets won't be napping over the phins." Unless you have something sueful OR you actually post something funny don't reply.
if words fire up opposing teams then how did we make the AFC Title Game? My point is all the talk is fun but it's meaningless on gameday. We'd never win if that wasn't the case b/c our players and coaches are giving opponents bulletin board material every week. STs are part of the game, we won the game on O and D but STs cost us the game unfortunately.
Thanks for your lesson here. I was replying to your OBVIOUS reply. Simply stating the fact that WE ALL KNOW that already. If you're going to continue to state the obvious I would at least try and throw in a joke or two. Otherwise don't reply.
Again I was implying your reply was obvious and not needed. It's not difficult either. Just for kicks can you explain again why we can't look past Miami. The Dolphins right, or did you mean the Heat?
My reply wasn't needed but your awful attempt at a joke was? You must make a living on comedy, that's another gem at the bottom of your last post
Of course the Jets give other teams bulletin board material.....Rex's approach includes walking around with a big stick.....he challenges other teams to beat us and uses it as motivation for our own team.....and I'm totally fine with that. In Winston's case....his team has done f*ck all for their entire NFL tenure....he really shouldn't be shortchanging the Jets based on a hypothetical coin flip. The Jets are in MUCH BETTER shape than the Texans....until the Texans prove their worth, they shouldn't be involved in any kind of playoff discussions.
That'll do junc, that'll do. Ps- I'm a huge fan of Captain Obvious, he's not appreciated nearly enough.
Junc the Jets are boastful and speak proudly of themselves. The only team we've talked real crap to was the Dolphins. Bulletin board material is someone saying we won't have success. Add to that, two teams that didn't achieve that success are going to leapfrog us. That said, I don't think this team cares much what's written in that light because they know they are a special group. Why would another team be motivated by Rex saying Revis is the best in the game, or were gonna line up and you know what's coming so let's see what you got?
 Our guys are always talking, watch the NFL films recap of the SD playoff game w/ their players talking to the cameras about how they were going to shut us up.
Vegas sets their odds based on public perception, and the public has a hard-on for the jets. They are in the business of wrangling in the money of the people in the #1 market in the country, which is NY. Those odds have less to do with what they believe and more to do with capitalizing on the excitement of Jets fans.
