I don't understand why these guys think that the Fins will make the playoffs over the Jets, to me it makes no sense, they have a lot more questions then answers for that squad, but that's fine much better then being coined "Paper Champs" I'd rather have our team under the radar

    LOL-

Under the radar?? We are no where near being off the radar, even before hard knocks airs we are the radar.

One guy, or even a few not picking us does not change that.

Vegas has us winning the Super Bowl in some places, or at least the top 3.

So when we talk it doesn't fire up an opponent but when an opponent talks it should fire us up?

As painful as it may be to realize this Miami has a good team and it will be a dogfight btw us, Miami and New England. I wouldn't be shokced w/ any outcome- I wouldn't be shocked if all 3 made the playoffs or if 2 of the 3 make it in any order. What this guy wrote was not a slap in the face.

Well shit dude, it gets pretty annoying after a while in my opinion, call me crazy but i'd honestly have this team not be talked about at all, I don't know what it is about me, I hate when everyone predicts that the "JETS ARE WINNING THE SB" including people like Herm Edwards or Gary Myers, I think it's just bad luck at the end of the day.

Jets have a HUGE bulls-eye right on there back right now, everyone wants a piece of us, of course I don't mind it, but I just hate the hype were getting, I hope our team stays focus when the cameras are on during Hard Knocks

  7. It's unbelieveable how the media and league go out of their way to find ANYTHING to discount this franchise.

Before this offseason, experts always said the jets lacked the big play threat, veteran leadership, defensive speed or whatever reason they could come up w/ to downplay the possibility of being a super bowl contender.NOW the jets have a top 5 team talent-wise w/ pro bowl players spread about almost every facet, and suddenly " All star teams almost never work out" and "There isn't enough time to develop the needed chemistry".

I think it's all BS...and when opposing fan bases/media poke fun at jet fans sensitivity...they should take a long look at crap like this. No one will give this franchise any credit or any chance of being a nationally respected team.Doesn't matter who they sign, cut, draft or trade.

I used to cringe when Rex ran his mouth to the media..but now I hope Rex stays on the attack w/ these boneheads. Be confident, be arrogant and be brash.Who cares what the media and the rest of the league think? They've been nothing but a moral obstacle since the franchise's humble beginnings. This team is talented, physical and pissed off..and although they may not win it all..I wouldn't bet against them. How quickly Mr. Winston forgets how badly his team and his unit were humiliated week one last season.

Listen we have so many people in the media that think the Jets will make the playoffs, and even win the Superbowl.

So what would you do as a reporter? Uhh write an article saying the otherwise? Of course you would. Nice job Eric Winston you'll have some traffic on your website today.

The guy is a homer....he put the Texans in the playoffs.....you know, because they're SUCH a perennial playoff threat.

I don't think the Phins are a threat at all.....no team that relies on a gimmick offense should be considered a threat.

Miami is going to win 9 games, but will that be enough to capture a Wild Card spot in 2010? I don't think so. I think New England & Tennessee will be taking those spots with 11 wins a piece.

Miami is going to be a tough out, they're a good team, but they're not a playoff team yet. Not with their defensive troubles. Their DLine is decent at best, they have no OLB's or Safeties. Also if you have a true #1 CB like Darrelle Revis you can take out Marshall for 95% of the game.

There is no Ted Ginn to beat the Jets in 2010. That's 2 less wins right there. Luckily for them they don't have a schedule as tough as the Jets or Pats which will keep them in contention.

As for Winston, WHO? Wasn't this dude the over-rated T prospect from "The U"? I remember kicking the ever loving shit out of his yearly over-rated Texans in Week 1 last year. I'm so damn tired of the Texans. EVERY YEAR we hear about "this is the year for Houston!" and every year it NEVER changes. A slow start, a strong finish and no playoffs. Nothing will change. Another 8-8 season on the horizon in Houston.

I'm glad Winston left the Jets out in the cold with his playoff picks......just pin it up on the bulletin board, Rex....we'll see these pretenders in week 11.

I actually completely agree with you. While I believe we're the best team in the division going into the season, the Pats aren't slouches (especially given that Welker is looking to be far ahead of schedule to return) and the Phins are better than any of us would like to give them credit for.

It's a three horse race in the division. This is one of those years where the division record is what will decide who gets a home game, and who goes home.

Well, someone better tell the Colts, Pats, Saints, Cowboys, Packers, Chargers, and Eagles that they're in for bad luck too.

Every year half the league is predicted to be the Super Bowl winner, and one of that group always wins.

A QB with a really good arm. A backup QB who is capable of winning a game as a starter.

Don't sleep on Miami. I'm hoping the Jets aren't.

Sanchez is a better Quarterback than Henne.

But you're right on Tyler Thigpen, put that as the 5th thing they have.

Miami will compete, as I've said, they will win about 9 games, but they do not have a good enough defense to make the postseason. To make up for their defense they'd have to have an outstanding offense, something they do not have, even with the addition of Marshall.

After last year's sweep....i'm confident the Jets won't be napping over the phins.

In fact...i'm pretty sure Xerces will motivate the lockeroom for the tilts with Miami.

I agree, the Chargers and Eagles have been a predicted SB how many times this past decade? At least 3 or 4 times, and they've choked each and every time in the playoffs, i'll add the Cowboys to that list of chokers as well

But what I do see is that list of teams up there are nothing like the Jets on the defensive end, that makes me feel a lot better about our team ... well shit I guess we will see what happens.

I agree, what normal fans don't look at when it comes to QB play is ...

    1) How well do they throw on the move, can they make all the throw?
    2) Accuracy?
    3) Cerebral QB?
    4) Decision Making?

People tend to look at stats, I tend to look at how a QB plays, Sanchez hands down is one of the best in the league when it comes to footwork, to me he just has all the fundamentals you want in a QB, when I look at those 4 categories I mentioned, Sanchez takes the bill in each one IMO, the only thing Henne has going for him is a strong arm, there's much more to the QB play then Arm Strength, our QB is going to turn heads this year, and more importantly stupid casual fans that can't evaluate a QB.

"I felt like there would be an odd man out in the AFC East and I just flipped a coin. Sorry, Jets."

Anyone who writes a aports article stating they "flipped a coin" in stead of making an educated prediction probably should not be writing an article about the specific topic.
