I am so sick and tired of hearing these dumb ass sports people, and dolphin fans about dansby, while he might of been the best linebacker available in the free agent market, that doesnt mean he's great.

here are his stats from last season, 109 combined tackles, which made him #23 among lb's, he had 1 sack, i repeat, 1 sack, 1 ff, and 1 int.

what the hell is so special about that???????????????

Stats are not everything. Yeah he had one sack, but he is a hell of a player. Look at Bart Scott for us. He sacrificed himself every play, so David Harris could get in there and make the plays.

Dansby is a good player, and it sucks Miami got him.

He's a complete LB that's always reliable and makes players around him better.

I don't particularly like him as a person (listened to an interview and he doesn't sound like he's the smartest out there) but he knows his football and he'll make the Dolphins D a lot better.

That said I'm picking D. Harris over him any given Sunday...

Don't read into the stats too much. What makes him good is his versatility, he is good in coverage, blitzing and at engaging OL. He's a beast.

I couldnt disagree more, the stats dont lie, and he's not an impact player.

If he was on the Jets, you wouldn't say that.

    Dansby's a very good linebacker.

    - Bart Scott

Avg of last 3 yrs: 89 tackles, 1.16 sacks, 3.66 PDef, 0 INTs, 0.66 FF

    - Karlos Dansby

Avg of last 3 yrs: 108 tackles, 2.83 sacks, 5.66 PDef, 2 INTs, 2.33 FF (played 2 games less than Scott)

Dansby's stats are superior to Scott... but you know how Scott is important to our D.

74 tackles and 9 picks to 54 tackles and 6 picks, Its obvious that Woodson is a better corner than Revis. Stats don't lie. Revis must not be much of an impact corner.

    now your getting carried away.

when you dont get thrown at you dont get the stats.

i dont think teams are saying, lets not run at dansby, or pass his way.

Dansby is a damn good player, and a team captain.

that shit doesn't happen by accident.

He's going to help that defense this year.

I dont know about some of the arguments he is posting and what not, but I will say I dont remember ever thinking Karlos Dansby was that great of a LB. Perhaps I never kept a close eye on the NFC West (why would I care?) I knew the name but I never thought of him as awesome and was surprised the Dolfags threw what they did at him.

Cardinals Defense has been very crappy perhaps he was just the best player on their pathetic D, making him look better than he really is. Either way it doesnt really strike fear in me that the Dolphins got him, we have 3 or 4 better pickups than him this offseason anyway.

Getting carried away? You bet I am.

This post of yours is basicly you admiting what I was trying to point out. Stats DON'T tell the entire story of a player. So much goes into how well any player plays that just looking at the stats on the net is about not all that usefull for scouting someone's impact on the game.

As others have pointed out, Bart Scott's biggest contributions to our defense do not hit the stat sheet. Same can be said for our defensive QB Jim Leonhard. Down playing Dansby's obvious skills at linebacker because of stats is not seeing the entire picture.

    Football isn't baseball.

You can never say "look at his stats"

Same thing in hockey. You can't use stats to tell the whole story. Baseball is the only sport. I find it hilarious when people use stats to justify an opinion on a player.

You have to judge a football player on team impact. And if you don't know what that means then there is no helping you.

Dansby is an inside linebacker. It's not his job to collect sacks.

    This.

Certainly not this. Revis was the 5th most targeted cornerback in the league last season.

ask Aaron Rodgers who ended his season ...

I'm glad to see most of you guys really are impressed with Dansby. I hope he really shines this year and eventually paves a way for the release / trade of Crowder within the next year or so.
