yeah but it didnt become widespread news until rex started gushing about him in post game press conferences. rex took it from ny/nj to the national stage. revis was under the radar before rex started telling everyone that he was the best corner in the NFL. he gushed about mangold too and thats a TC holdout waiting to happen. i love everything about rex, but this is one of the things he does (talk up his guys) that has consequences.

Some of you guys are completely taking this the wrong way lol. He gave Revis his props and said he will be the best corner in the game. Come on he's only played against him once!

Honestly I wouldn't be shocked if Revis held Marshall in check this season and I wouldn't be surprised if Marshall put up 100 yards or so. Both are elite players in their position. Revis is arguably the top corner in the game and I would put Marshall as maybe the 3rd or 4th best receiver in the game.

But you guys throwing up the argument that Marshall only had 55 yards in their only matchup are crazy. Cutler still put up nearly 360 yards and 34 points with the top threat being locked down. I know you guys are much better now than you were then, but it shows that if we can remove Revis by isolating him with Marshall, then hopefully we can focus on Bess / Hartline / Camarillo to pick up the slack while relying on the running game to beat you ... like the Broncos did that day

^ i'll take camarillo, bess, and hartline against wilson, lowery, and cromartie every day of the week and twice on sunday.

last year and in prior years it was possible to just ignore revis and light up the jets secondary. those days are gone.

i know revis shuts down the other teams best receiver, but wouldn't it be A LOT cheaper than $100M/6yr to pay the cook at the other teams hotel to slip their star receiver a bad chicken cutlet? food poisoning can be a wonderful thing.

no doubt man. Bess proved he can be our version of Wes Welker. I'm not saying it's an easy gameplan. You guys are the real deal on D but if we can play offensively like we did that Monday Night game where we were smashmouth and let Henne throw when he needs to, it can be done.

He was 20-26 that night for 241 yards while ronnie had 21 carries for 74 and ricky put up 11 carries for 68 yards.

I think we are in for some more great games this year.

Wes Welker was your version of Wes Welker. Then you gave him to the Patriots and have had shit receivers since. Having picked up a decent receiver finally, you still are going to be trying to pass on the leagues #1 pass defense, with Marshall sitting on the island, alone and ineffective. Guarantee it.

    a decent receiver?? haha

I'm not saying that Henne is gonna put up 300 yards and you guys, but I'm just sayin that if he can put up 240 in his third start with TED GINN leading the way, then the we might have a glimmer of hope here with Marshall.

edit: ugh Welker ... thanks Cameron for doing that one. We trade away Welker and Chambers and have lacked a reciever ever since ... horrible horrible lol

Welker was an absolute steal for the Pats.

At least Chambers gave us a 2nd round pick which turned out to be Henne

You may have noticed since you are in the same division that Welker at the patriots has 3,688 in the past three seasons with the Pats. That's two second places in receptions and one first.

In that time you used a (high) first rounder on Ted Ginn Jnr...

I said it was possible to do. The only two qb's that managed to do it last year were Brady and Manning. I don't know if those guys will be able to do it this year but I'm fairly confident that Henne won't be the guy to do it.

We will see but I know that the wildcat won't be doing shit on this defense this year and if Henne is as good as you guys say he is it is probably stupid to be taking the ball out of his hands anyway. I did see the Jets D get beat up by traditional running attacks last year but nothing was as embarrassing as that stupid wildcat which should be a thing of the past at this point.

I would have been amazed if he called Revis the best corner in the NFL. Yea, most people think Revis is the best, but not even close to 100%... a division rival and former teammate of Champ Bailey not naming Revis the best corner in football is standard practice.

I just cant wait till Revis locks this guy up and makes all the Dolphin fans (as little as there actually are) shut up.

Didn't Revis already say that Marshall is inferior to Moss? It's kind of pointless to call someone out when you're second to the party.

and of course I would take my guys over yours. Our receivers aren't as bad as you would think. We just lacked a true number 1 guy last year in a stable full of solid 2s.

Nobody ever talks about Bess but the guy is one of the top slot receivers in the game - he put up nearly 80 catches last year but you would never know it.

Hartline and Braylon Edwards nearly posted identical statistics and Camarillo had only 7 less catches than Cotchery.

Whether you admit it or chalk it up to some 'misused in the charger D' excuse, Cromartie remains a question mark for you. He does have the potential to be a pro bowler, but also the potential to be a weak part of your D.

Same with Wilson, he's a rookie, Gholston and Ted Ginn were supposed to light the world on fire too as rookies ... but we know how that turned out for both of us.

From what I read, the Wildcat will still be used this year and Marshall should be able to provide us with some different options. Above all else though, he is an exceptional run blocker

I don't care if Revis holds him to 1 catch as long as we get the 4th straight W
