Great Stuff yet again by Vrentas , her and Manish have become excellent beat writers thus far. Also its great to know Ducasse is going up against one of the elite Dlineman in the NFL and the more he gets pushed around and knocked over the more times he'll learn and recover. Loving the off-season soo far and these rookies
am i the only one that feels like if this kid doesnt "absorb" all these new techniques and experience pointers from veterens then we'll just have a mediocre to average left guard but nothing special, certainly not anywhere near Faneca in his prime? i mean, the dude knows very little about the game itself. dont get me wrong ive cursed out my tv in regards to Faneca on many different sundays, but he knowed how to play the game and was a monster in the run blocking techniques, despite his piss poor pass blocking. i mean Vlad cant possibly be any worse in the passing game, which is good, but what exactly is he gonna offer in the running game? he's certainly no Faneca at this point, and who's to say he'll even be half the run blocker Alen was? overall, i feel as if it comes to this: THEY SHOULD HAVE NEVER FUCKED WITH THE O-LINE CHEMISTRY.
While I agree with you initially, I think Ducasse is still raw and can be shaped into a premier lineman in this league. He's only played football for a handful of years, and with Callahan under his wing I think he has the potential to do great things. Will he be better than Faneca overall? Probably not at first. In the long run though? I like our chances. p.s. - I'm referencing Faneca in his twilight years with the Jets, not in his prime.
