http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/14588/jason-taylor-not-torn-on-fins-jets-qbs By Tim Graham Jason Taylor wouldn't let me get the question out of my mouth. "Who do you think I'm going to pick?" he interjected, as if to convey his answer was so obvious I shouldn't waste my breath. And it was, really. "I know who I'm going to pick, and it's my quarterback here," Taylor said after last week's public practice in the new Meadowlands stadium. "I've always been one of those guys that rides or dies with his quarterback. "Sanchez is my guy, and I better not hear anybody say anything bad about him." What else could Taylor have said? His quotes would have been all over the New York newspapers' back pages had he said Henne was the better quarterback. Taylor would have rototilled all of the grassroots campaigning he has done to win over the Jets fans he has angered over the years. "Naturally, there will be [a rivalry] because of the teams and quarterbacks draw a lot of attention," Taylor said. "I played with Chad. I think Chad's going to be a darn good quarterback. He has all the tools. "At this level, when you get a guy like a Sanchez or a Chad Henne that has all the physical tools, it's the other things that separate you. It's the preparation, the development you go through. For quarterbacks, it doesn't just start in August and end in February. It's an evolution." Taylor has been amazed at Sanchez's dedication to both rehabbing his surgically repaired knee to studying in the film room. "You can see it," Taylor said. "No. 1, it's his work ethic. I came around in April, and you can see how he focuses. He understands what it takes to be a quarterback in this league and the time and commitment that it takes." Nice to see a different perspective from someone who has been on both sides.... or he's just trying to really suck up to Jets fans
What else is he suppose to say. If he was a Dolphin, he would have said the oppisite. What a waste of air. Thanks for the post though, I will take any Jets stuff at this point. THis is truly the off season
as much as it pains me to say it for as much as I've loved watching his as a player ... I would tend to agree with you
He makes it pretty clear that he is always going to say the QB of his team. Hard to put much weight on this one way or the other...
Yeah man i was on the fence whether or not to post this for fear of the backlash  Oh well though, one more month til training camp starts
Yeah obviously... maybe at the end of the season his oppinion would carry more weight after all he's only seen mark for OTA's and what not. He's seen a good sample size of chad
i wont lie, good to see him showing some love even tho he didnt have much choice...I've excepted him as a jet
I still find it a little funny though that he still finds a way to give Chad Henne some props. It's like he's trying to keep Dolphins fans from being upset, along with the whole "wearing 95 for Bowens" thing.
I'm sure he wants to keep Miami hate to a minimum, I mean he must live there or at least own a restaurant there.
yeah ... I don't hate him, he was a free agent and was free to go wherever he wants. Parcells offered him a deal during the season and he felt it wasn't appropriate to talk about then. After the season, from what I understand no other deal was offered so he did what he had to do to play football and I can't get upset at him for that. but if he's worried about keeping the "hate" off him then he wouldn't be wearing green and white to begin with lol
I agree ... If he still wants to go play football and the Jets are the only team to show interest ... who am I to get mad at him for playing? He doesn't owe me anything personally and I have been one of his biggest fans over the past 13 years. I will still root for him - except for 2 games this year - but I still hope his team goes 4-12 lol
