NYPost_Hubbuch Ferguson's agent also scoffed at pre-training camp timeline for a deal. "Hard to say that when you've never exchanged proposals ... " about 1 hour ago via web NYPost_Hubbuch " ... and don't even know if you're in the same ballpark. We haven't heard anything from the #Jets." about 1 hour ago via web NYPost_Hubbuch Ferguson is seeking a long-term extension with money roughly equal to that of fellow LTs Jake Long and Joe Thomas. #Jets NYPost_Hubbuch Long got 5 years/$57.75M with $30M guaranteed from #Dolphins, while Thomas got 6 years/$43M with $23M guaranteed from #Browns. about 1 hour ago via web
we won't get brick for that, he will want in between the two. I would be surprised if we got Brick for anything less than a 6 year extension worth 54 million with 30 guaranteed. that breaks down to 9 million a year Long got 11.55 million per year Thomas got 7.16 million per year and it locks him up through 2017, until he is 33 years old. sounds like a plan to me, if his agent vetos toss in a few incentives for pro-bowls and all-pro selections and we call it a day.
the other half of the dbrick resigning is it is easier under the 30% rule for the uncapped year.he was the #4 overall so the giving him 305 more then his original contract still puts him up where the $ should be for his position
FYP..... Oh and BTW ROTFLMAO that Jumbo Elliot was better than Brick. Please tell me you are joking? I find it amazing that every personel guy in the free world values an LT over C any day of the week and six ways to Sunday. Especially a very good to great LT over the bestest center in the league. Why can't Jets fans wrap their heads around this? Again this is not putting Brick on an alter and disparaging Mangold. It is just the reality of their positions
Thomas and Long were drafted 3 and 2 years ago(respectively). Is Brick really looking for a new rookie contract?
The salary cap really does need to be raised- I hope that it does get a HUGE raise in the new CBA. I sound like a broken record but the cap in general is crap. Larger market teams should be able to field a better team, they are entertaining a larger market so it only makes sense. If this were the case I wouldn't care if Revis made 30 million a year. All these "problems" we're having is a good sign though, it just means we have a bunch of good players. I'm glad we aren't arguing about which players to pickup who were dropped or from the CFL.
I think that's a big part of this. Players that keep their mouths shut and play seem to get rewarded by Tanny. He's certainly not on to be bullied.
127 million is low I think. NFL teams carry a massive roster and these top players are making more and more. I'd say in the new agreement it'd have to be at least 150.
I bet you thought the Cowboy's left tackle was more important than Larry Allen during the Troy Aikman era. Also, I never said anything in the quote included in your post so you might want to edit that.
The jets would be one of the teams to benefit most from a huge raise in the cap. Let's hope it happens.
You say this without any reason behind it. "I'd say" you're wrong. One of the reasons the owners unanimously voted to opt out of the current agreement is that the amount of money they were paying players was increasing at a rate that was not proportional to the amount of profit they were bringing in. So why would the owners opt out of the current agreement with that being a reason, and agree to significantly INCREASE what they players get? They wont. Take that to the bank.
Right so you didn't say that huh? Someone else using your username? FYP means Fixed your post because there is nobody air breathing with a position higher than Jock sniffer on an NFL franchise that values Center higher. So I am amused when misguided fans do. BTW Larry Allen played every position on the line other than Center including LT and RT and made the Pro-Bowl at both Guard and Tackle. How on gods green earth does that help your argument?
I missed the FYP but you are still an idiot for trying to put those words in my mouth. I didn't realized I was dealing with an experienced NFL jock sniffer. As for Fabini over Fergeson I absolutely did say that. My arguement is that Larry Allen playing in the guard position was more valuable than whover was playing left tackle for the Cowboys at the time. Do you agree or disagree with that statement?
Fabini over Ferguson??? Are you kidding me??? Fabini was a better run blocker...but Ferguson is far and away the better pass protector which at LT is the most important thing..and Ferguson doesn't have even a QUARTER of the holding/false start penalties that Fabini had. I like Fabini and feel he is underappreciated by Jet fans..but no way is he superior to Brick.
(exactly how I feel about the Revis thing) Hey..Get back to me when DBrick lines up at TE and catches a TD in one of the greatest games ever
