This is just a simple and fun thread to predict who the Jets could face, obviously not stating that the Jets are a lock for the Superbowl but if they did who is the most LIKELY opponent?( oh i know off-season threads suck sometimes haha trying to get this forum movin a bit) Top 8 NFC Teams Last Season 1. Saints 13-3-0 2. Vikings 12-4-0 3. Cowboys 11-5-0 4. Packers 11-5-0 5. Eagles 11-5-0 6. Cardinals 10-6-0 7. Falcons 9-7-0 8. Panthers, 49ers, Giants Tied at 8-8 Other Teams not listed that have a chance: Redskins, Seahawks, Bears.
My knee jerk was to say Green Bay but Bulaga alone can't save that offensive line. "Short arms" takes a top 10 player to the end of the first round? What the fuck? The Jets have more company when it comes to getting a top 10 player at the end of the first, though, in Arizona when they picked up Dan Williams. Daryl Washington out of TCU should be the starter in the middle by the regular season, and that defense forced a lot of turnovers and got quite a bit of pressure. Joey Porter may be stiff arm prone, but he can still rush the passer and will help them out there. Dan Williams will help out their pedestrian run defense. Word out of their OTAs is that their backup corners are performing well and that Early Doucet is maintaining his post-season form as a Boldin clone. Problems? Kerry Rhodes needs to get his head out of his ass, Alan Faneca needs to not get Anderson killed (you really think Leinart has changed? pics of him from OTAs look like he's out of shape. If he isn't putting in the work to be in football shape, then he isn't putting in the work to quarterback a team). Aside from that . . . Ben Graham? Beanie Wells is in his second year. Their lines are only getting better from last year (spare the LG spot's pass protection cough cough) and that spotty defense will only improve. I like Ken Whisenhunt to take the Cards back to the Superbowl. In the words of Brandon Sharpe to Bubby Brister, "This offense is like a Ferrari. Just DON'T WRECK THE FERRARI." Derek Anderson (or god forbid Matt Leinart) just need to not wreck the Ferrari. Also, the Saints are a young team that is held together by a great quarterback, and they just got a year older and had a decent depth draft, solidifying themselves in case of injury. They are definitely a threat. The only time they looked mortal last season was when they were injured. Edit - And sans Sanchez, when they played the Jets.

Wow. I thought I'd be in the minority picking GB. Rodgers has the look of being one of the next great QBs in this league. I think he steps it up this year. However, I reserve the right to change mind whenever the hell I want.
Saints or Falcons. I really don't trust any of the HCs of the other NFC teams. Wade Phillips isn't a great coach, but he's a good one. McCarthy I don't love, Childress doesn't inspire me (if he has no Favre he won't get a playoff spot), Eagles and Cards don't have the QB to get them there. Saints could repeat, with the Falcons having a young team but I don't think their defense can win a SB yet. So I guess I choose the Saints? Yeah, I'll go with them. If its not Saints, the Jets toughest opponent will be in the AFC Chip game.
I would love to see favre come back and lead Minn to the nfccg against GB. That way he either looses to GB or us. Oh ya, and either way I want his last pass to be a heart renching pick. Just like his last two trips to the championship game.
