And it begins! What happens when you promise NFL players a new contract and don't deliver? Answer would be that "They wont play as hard". So many contracts due at the end of the year and this happens? Get rid of the GM now before shit hits the fan. Or role with the punches and get swept again!
You Dolphins twerps live and die by that one season sweep. I guess you have to hang onto something to help you forget that they missed the playoffs. Revis is going to shut down Marshall twice, and the Jets games with Miami will be so insignificant in 2010 that you fanbase will crawl back under their rock, like they were in 2007.
As much as I love Revis, big baby here. He has 3 years 21 million left on his deal and he is holding out. Mangold has one year left and he is actually there. Come on Revis
Jesus Christ, man, he doesn't have 3 years left. He is in the final year of his deal. The Jets haven't decided to buy back the final 2 years and my guess is that Tanny isn't really keen on guaranteeing 20mil to Revis for the next 2 seasons when he can negotiate a contract that is structured far more friendly to a future cap.
to everyone saying, "just pay the man." ... do you honestly think that revis deserves THAT much more than demarcus ware??? a player who is every much his equal, had far more leverage than revis, and plays a more valued defensive position???
This is what happens when you make the NFL season 12 months long. Revis is the most important player on the Jets by far. Anyone who thinks that Tannenbaum would ever allow his contract to run out without an extension is either a Jet-hater, a bored member of the sports media looking for an NFL story to run in June, or a simpleton who's been swayed by one of these groups. Wake me up when the guy skips mandatory practices. And even then, I won't be convinced that there's a major problem here.
I think people need to prepare themselves for the very real possibility that Revis is going to hold out deep into TC, and possibly miss a couple/few preseason games. Hell, he missed most of TC in his rookie year and that was just a rookie contract. Now we're talking about the best corner in the league, and DPOY runner up. This isn't going to be a quick and painless negotiation.
With the type of defense RR runs...yes. Not many guys historically have been able to do with Revis does, he's a rare talent.
Ryan places a premium on cornerbacks over the front seven. In his system, yes. In pretty much anyone else's system, no.
He'll be holding out for an historic contract. 15k a day is a drop in the bucket when you are looking at possibly 40+ million guaranteed.
I had no idea that Revis' agent, Neil Schwartz, also represented Pete Kendall and Chris Baker. Not saying Revis is anywhere near on the same footing as those two clowns, but they didn't handle their contract issues rationally or professionally and their agent's advice surely played a role in their erratic behavior.
Exactly. Elite QBs = Kurt Warner, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning. I expect Sanchez will be a great well above average QB. (Top 12 QB) But I highly doubt he will be as good as those three.
lmao...i ordered an authentic Revis knockoff from another site (shipped yesterday idk when its coming) I hope I'm not bad luck either
