Peyton Brees Brady Rodgers Rivers Big Ben Favre Schaub Mcnabb Eli Carson Palmer does not deserve to be anywhere on this list. He never regained his pre injury form and thats unfortunate. Cutler and Romo could make this list but I still think they are overrated. Flacco, Ryan, Henne do not have the sample size to be considered top 10 qbs. I can't believe no one else put in big ben. He may have had his off the field issues but I'll still take him over most of these guys. He may not be a conventional qb but he finds ways to win.
He's never had a QB rating under 91.4, is 3rd among active players and 4th all time. I think it's safe to say that he will be among the leaders in rating.
Palmer didn't have any weapons besides Ocho Cinco last season and he put up pretty good numbers. The Bengals drafted Jermaine Gresham and signed Antonio Bryant. Carson Palmer has some weapons now.
He always put up some good numbers but he's not the same player he was before he got hurt. He doesn't throw the ball nearly as well as he did and he looks tentative. I think he could have been a great qb but once he got hurt he was never the same. Look at his numbers pre injury/post injury. Edit: I'm talking about the elbow injury in 2008. Ever since he throws the ball like Chad Pennington.
They have a better receiving core than Miles Austin, Roy Williams, Dez Bryant, Patrick Crayton, Sam Hurd and Jason Witten??? Not sure what you are seeing there....you may want to look at that statement again
No way I'm taking him over Roethlisberger. The guy has already won 2 superbowls and Romo on a talented Cowboys team has won one playoff game. I would consider him over Favre and Mcnabb due to injury/age concerns but if all things were equal Favre and Mcnabb are better qb's. Schaub is similar to Romo in that he just compiles good numbers but something just seems to be missing. I think it took Eli a while to get good and his last two seasons were really good. As much as Romo puts up great numbers I still don't think he's a great all around quaterback. You can make a solid argument of Romo over any of these guys with the exception of Roethlisberger.
I think you missed the point of this thread. It's about who will be in the top 10 in the QB rating stat. Romo owns the 4th best mark in that stat ALL TIME. It's pretty much a lock that he will be top 10 in that category. Aside from that, Rapelisberger rode his defense and running games to those titles. He has had two years where he was asked to do more than manage the game and the team averaged 9.5 wins those years. He has benefited greatly from the situation he landed in in Pittsburgh. Also, I weigh championships at about zero when evaluating a player. Football is the ultimate team sport, and championships are the ultimate team accomplishment. Using them to give one individual player and edge over another is foolish.
Fair enough, I was looking at the overall qb, not the rating. Romo for his career has a 95.6 rating in 1857 attempts. Ben has a 91.7 rating in 2,411 career attempts. If you want to say that Romo has a better qb rating that's fine. If you want to say he's a better qb because his rating is better, that I will disagree with. The Steelers have had a great defense most of the time he's been the qb. But they don't sniff the two superbowls without him. They never would have beaten indy or denver in the first superbowl year. As a starter the Steelers are 68-28 during the regular season and 8-2 in the playoffs. Ratings wise I guess you would take Romo, but if I have to win a football game give me Roethlisberger.
