I'd play Clowney or Smith, no need to bring someone in for only 4 games, would be a waste

 

I'm pretty sure we can manage just fine with either Clowney or Smith for 4 games.

 

I want Rex to announce before the season that we're gonna pound the ball on the ground for the first four weeks and that coordinators can stack the box all they want. Then after we stuff 150 rushing yards down each teams throat I want Cotchery to get 3 passes, Edwards 2, and Smith 1, all in the 4th quarter just so everyone knows we can pass the ball if we want to.

 

So the plan would be to sign Crayton and then eventually have Edwards, Cotch, Holmes and Crayton as wide receivers on a team that will unquestionably run the ball more then almost every other team? And we would do this because our #3 wr is out the first 4 games?

I hate this part of the offseason.

 

We still have the guy we grabbed from Minny last Sumer (Allison) plus possibly woodhead in the slot in addition to clowney and Smith.

I still find it funny that so many people vote for Clowney. I think Aundrae Allison comes back and gives him a big time challenge for his roster spot.

 

I'm note sure why you find it funny. Clowney had more receptions, yards, touchdowns and targets than Smith in 2009 - and his hands are much, much better than Smith's. Neither of them is very good at separation or route-running.

I do find it funny that you think Brad Smith will be de facto #3 for the first 4 games, considering he has not proven he can play WR at all for this team. I think if anyone beats Clowney out for that spot, it's Allison, not Smith.

I see them bringing in Coles before Training Camp. But I don't think Coles will stay with the team once Holmes comes back from his suspension

 

I really hope not. I tired of his act years ago.

I don't know why I just never took a liking to him as a player. Very unimpressive especially in the YAC department.

 

I would like if the Jets signed Crayton, decent #3 and a great returner.

 

How many WRs do fans expect the Jets to carry? 20?

 

I would have Brad Smith in on every down. The defense will not know what will happen. I have been waiting years to see him throw out of any formation. He can do the flea flicker with Sanchez without the flea.

 

Lets get Larry Fitzgerald for the first 4 games
