people are entitled to their opinion. we all think cro is gonna return to his dominant form, others aren't as convinced just yet.

I fucking hate pre-season. Months and months of "controversial" noise.

Wait until we start shutting teams down for real in a few months time.

Didn't the Dolphins corners get burned a lot last year? I know they were rookies but they have a lot to prove still (though they have potential to be an elite tandem)

How anyone can take the fins CB's over the Jets amazes me. I understand they have a couple of athletic young guys, but Revis is at worst the 3rd best corner in the league. That alone should be enough to take the Jets over the Fins. Cromartie is IMO, also better than any CB the fins have. Oh yea, we also picked up this chump in the 1st round that is supposed to be the best man cover guy in the draft.

Muhammad played against these kids last year, so for him to pick them is pretty high praise, since he did plenty of film work on them and has first hand experience playing against them.

As far as being burnt, the kids definitely got beat a few times, and taught a few lessons by future HoF WRs. But a good chunk of the big plays came from blown coverages by Gabril Wilson... especially with zone coverages, where the kids would go to hand off the WR, and Wilson was no where to be found.

Remember when Ginn smoked Revis last year? But it was the Safety's fault? There was a LOT of that happening last year. It's why we cut Wilson, even though we gave him a big contract. He was so bad... we had no choice but to eat it.

I think Mush was going in that direction... implying that they have the potential to become the best tamndum in the NFL, even if they might not be at that level just yet.

I'm pretty excited about these kids...

Just like my Pekingese has the potential to take a shit bigger than a Great Dane.

It is a pretty ridiculous statement and only the biggest homer in the world could do anything other than laugh at it. This is the equivalent of saying Sanchez is on par with Manning or Brees. It is that fucking stupid!

Let them get to mediocre first before anointing them the best tandem in the league.

They were the 2 best CBs in their class last year. How is Mush a homer for saying that? He played against them last year, and obviously is quite high on them. After a game, RMoss went up to Vontae and told him that hes going to be a stud in this league. Drew Brees based off film prep for the Mia/NO game last year said that Smith and Vontae are one of the best young tandems hes seen.

So there has been some very high praise for these kids from players that went against them first hand last year.

But no, they are not the best CBs in the league right now, which is what your Sanchez/Manning comparrison would equate. They arent even the best tandem yet. But Mush didnt really say that. He said he really likes these kids, thinks they're going to get even better... and likes them moving forward. Compared them to Madison and Surtain who were the best CB tandem back in the day...

Jets fans are unimpressed by the Dolphins but others paid professionals seem to be paying attention. I've said it before you guys are seriously underestimating the Dolphins. They swept you, split with the Patriots and hung tough with the Colts and Saints almost beating them when they were playing all out.

The Dolphins look to be much improved this year. Better receiving game, better front 7, starters back on rb and ol. You guys might want to stop planning your superbowl party and actually pay attention to your division first. This isn't going to be an easy year for the Jets.

Rod Woodson has some kind of deep seated resentment towards the Jets. Every time our team is brought up on NFLN, he always has something negative to say.

Not that I really give a s***, just sayin'...

I understand why they did this. Can't talk about Revis too much. It gets ridiculous on NFL Network when all you say is REVIS REVIS REVIS.

You're right a little bit that we're underestimating the Dolphins, but I'm confident the Jets have a better team, and I'm extremely confident we have better cornerbacks.

Best CB tandem: Revis and Cromartie
    2nd best: Revis and Wilson:eek:hmy:

    dumb

you cant compare the 2 teams it's like comparing apples ot roanges revis shut down the best wr's in the league no one throws on him!!! you cant say that about anyone on the dolphins that alone gives jets the advantage. our 3rd cb now would start for most teams in the league as a rookie so there really isnt a comparison

They werent talking about the best CB... which is clearly Revis. They were talking about the best tandem. And Cromartie has not played well in a couple of years...

Hes going to need to rebound for people to get some more faith in him...

Yeah I know what they were talking about, but if you have Revis as 50% of that tandem he is better than the other 2 CB's easily. Especially if it's the two young Miami Cb's.

I can sort of understand the Bengals, since Cro had a pretty bad year and Joseph/Hall are both outstanding. The Dolphins corners are just too young and unproven yet though in my opinion. Revis is coming off one of the best years any defensive back has had all time, and if Cromartie can return to form, Jets will easily have the best duo, by a longshot. If Cromartie struggles, the Bengals duo might get the edge overall. But even running Sheppard and Strickland out there, the Jets still had the best pass defense in the NFL last year, which says a lot.

what makes the jets corners so good is that they might not need safety help over the top... revis defiantly wont and cro might not either... if the dolphins corners have to get help than how the hell are they better than the jets?
