Actually, we probably will be starting John Jerry at LG. So I think they are very similar situations, as we both are gunna be starting Day 2 rookies at the position.

Saying the inside linebackers are equal angers me. I'm surprised he didn't give the cornerback position a draw as well.

teams don't win because they are better than everybody else at every single position, and a position by position comparrison is simply irrelevant because those positions don't compete against one another. you have to compare one position against how they stack up against the opposing position -- Jets WR v Fins DB's, etc, etc.

not to mention what matters is whether a team's strength dictates the game and compensates for its weaknesses. who gives a fuck if the Fins D line is better than the Jets, they aren't competing against one another so that doesn't create an advantage on the field. if the Fins (or any other opponent) can't find open receivers, the Jets D-line will eventually make the play, or open it up for our LB's. that's how it works.

on the other hand, the Fins having a better D-Line doesn't help them if our O-Line neutralizes them and their DB's and LB's can't cover the receivers.

this entire article is a huge fucking stretch and just reeks of an insecure fan attempting to elevate the opinion of his team because he knows they simply aren't as good.

Some one at the MiamiHerald.com thinks the Phins are as good as the JETS., what a surprise.

Why are we posting this trash?

    Agreed, +1

I saw a report that the Raiders are just as good to, it was something from Bleacher Report so I'm going to thread that too.

Anyone who lives down in florida knows this moron used to be on 790 the ticket from 6-8.

I called him after his horrible article when the Jets beat the Chargers, and I just went to try and look for the number again and went to 790's website, and Salguero is not there anymore! Haha, I'm assuming they kicked the moron off!

If this article wasn't written by a fanboi hack then maybe, outside chance I would give two shits what he says. I would be more apt to listen to my beloved Pekingese talk about her opinion on the Jets vs. the Dolphins then this jerkoff.

As it is now, she is giving her opinion of his article by taking a nice big steaming pile on the Miami Herald sports section.....

Both games were pretty close last year (last 4 games actually) but Miami has won 3 straight, going 2-0 against the Jets last year. It's no surprise that SOME people are picking the Dolphins (with their arguably better off season) to be a better team then the Jets this year. Not everybody is always going to see things the same way.

The 'Fins have beaten the Jets 3 straight times. And Tony Sparano is 2-0 Against Rex Ryan. Who's to say they just aren't a better team? Dolfans definitely have an argument.

whose to say they aren't the better team? because head to head match-ups don't tell the entire story. By your logic, the Bucs split the season against the Saints and thus they must be just as good as the Super Bowl Champions. well, you have to ignore the fact that the Saints won 13 games and the Super Bowl, just as you have to ignore the fact that the jets won 2 playoff games and made it to the AFC Championship. clearly, despite the head to head results, the Saints are better than the Bucs, and the Jets are better than the Fins.

Honestly, I'm still waiting for you guys to have a better offseason than us so I can actually sound like I'm being objective.

Football is a team game, this is not baseball. You don't break down teams player by player, even at QB, since the QB is no good unless you can protect him. The Dolphin writers are the biggest homers and Jet haters out there, I am almost become proud of the NY media, almost. I can understand how people hate the Jets with all the hype of our off season signings and our big mouth cocky coach. But there is many ways to skin a cat, and just because Bill Parcells does it one way, does not mean that's the only way. Besides, Parcells is not even the GM, never mind the coach. The Dolphins defense as a whole, is not even in our league, and I am not even considering how much better our defense will be this year. I do respect their head coach and I think Henne will be very good, and I am not sure about the Jets as a team, but defensively, its not even an argument.
