One problem I have is with the comparison between our LG situation and theirs. Justin Smiley sucks as Salheroine pointed out and is on his way out while we just drafted Vlad Ducasse in the 2nd round to compete for the LG job. In other words, we're better off at LG. It would have made more sense if Salheroine compared our LG situation with their FS situation because our best players vying for those positions are both rookies (Vlad Ducasse and Reshad Jones respectively).

.... Sometimes I feel like the media guys are about 2 months behind me... I've said the teams are similar... And I see a number of posters made fair points.. I'm just going to step back and point out 1 more that I'm not sure was Mentioned one of the biggest reasons the Jets are among the best teams... COACHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Jets defense is coached IMO, by the best DC in football... Miami just signed Mike Nolan.. I'v enever been a fan of Mike Nolan.. Nolan was with the Jets at one point and was pretty mediocre.. He wasn't great at the 3-4 and pretty much relied on Brian Cox and crew to help teach him!!!!! IMO, this guy built his reputation off the Ravens defenses that he never built.... We shall see - Nolan was grabbing credit last year for Denver's resurgance.... But, IMO the Nolan is no where near what Rex Ryan and crew are.... Also, Miami will probably become more of a straight up offense without the Gimmicks... Parcells always said that you use Gimmicks when you feel your team is inferior or undermanned - I don't think they feel that way as much and they will probably use some of it - but, a more straight up offense will be a better fit for Rex and Rex was embarrased and has a target on Miami....
People are underestimating KRIS JENKINS as well... This guy can be a top 5 defensive stud in the NFL when healthy.. That's why I was one of the concerned when his weight was announced... This guy basically owns the trenches.

Ronnie gets hurt just about every year and Ricky wore down late in the year last year but he shows no signs of aging? I agree we have question marks- can Greene stay healthy? is LT done? what we will get from the rookie? but to act like Miami is a sure thing running the ball and we aren't is very silly as they have major question marks as well. Objectively: NYJ advantages: OL TE WR(mia has the best but #s 2-4 go to us) DT LBs CBs Mia advantages: RBs(slight) DEs K P about even: QBs Safeties Also add in big game experience which most of Miami's roster has none and the fact that our HC has 2 playoff wins while their HC has never been a part of a playoff win either as a HC or an assistant and we have the edge going into 2010. Does this mean we will be better? I think we will be but nothing is guaranteed, I expect both teams to be neck and neck battling for the div title but I think we are better and will finish ahead of them.

They added carlos Dansby and drafted Jared Odrick. We added Cromartie and Taylor; drafted Kyle Wilson; and we're getting kris Jenkins back. Yeah ... the two teams are very close in talent. So similar is eerie. What an imbecile.
