From what I understand the Jets are going to have a Ring of Fame at the new stadium so I'm just curious who you guys would have on there? Let's cap it at say 10 names. Essentially who would qualify as the 10 greatest or influential Jet players/coaches/owners of all time?

    1) Namath (no questions)
    2) Klecko (again no debate)
    3) Maynard (no debate as well)
    4) C Mart

No doubt about the first 4 but now it gets tough...

    5) Winston Hill (8 PB's 1 SB Ring)
    6) Weeb Eubank (Only SB winning coach in history plus has his jacket retired)
    7) Mo Lewis (maybe the best MILB we've ever had)
    8) Freeman McNeil (probably our 2nd best RB ever)
    9) Al Toon (had a fantastic career cut short by injuries)

Now for some controversy.... #10 would be Mark Gasteneau, Grade A douche yes but IMO still holds the single season sack record, invented the sack dance and was in the Walk Like an Egyptian Video.

this is great news, i always wanted a jets ring of fame.

many people feel that chrebet's # should be retired, so instead of retiring his # maybe he can be in the ring of fame?

i think they do the whole sack exchange as one.

marty lyons is our announcer and has been with the organization forever.besides all the charity work he does and guest appereances.
klecko would be there individually anyway
gastineu is someone they reallly wouldnt want to honor but how could you not??? by making it a group thing then you get to include him without the scrunity.
    salaam.....just ride the coattails

That was my thought as well and leave it up to parents to teach their kids in the douchebaggery of Gasteneau on their own.

That will be so funny if Gastineau gets into the Ring Of Fame.

I don't know how they can't unless they do the entire Sack Exchange but then Klecko gets screwed in the deal.

They should spread these shrines and tributes throughout the stadium instead of condensing them into one place.

If it's limited to 10 I'd go with (in no particular order)

    Namath
    Martin
    Klecko
    Grantham
    Maynard
    Gastineau
    Winston Hill
    Mo Lewis
    Al Toon
    Weeb Ewbank

Guys like Chrebet, Marvin Jones, Victor Green, Wesley Walker, Freeman McNeill and the rest of the Sack Exchange guys should not be forgotten or swept under the rug though.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks of him as one of best players, he was a very good safety for a long time.

you hit on pretty much all the really good ones except for powell and sauer. sauer was as great as maynard, it's just that the one with the long career is in the hall of fame and the other isn't. both had the same number of pro bowl appearances, but sauer had more 1st team all-pro years.
