As far as I understand it was announced at a comic convention (Chicago I think.) What it does to any live-action films, I don't know. IIRC, the supposed live-action was supposed to occur between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, so maybe it won't affect it. Honestly, I doubt we'll ever see a live-action tv show though. There's no way they'd be able to do the special effects without adding too much cheese. The animation worked with Clone Wars, so I can't see them deviating from that.

Now I wouldn't be surprised if we saw another live-action movie, but who knows?

As for Bane, are you not enjoying #2? I liked it, and so did my son. My brother wasn't a fan. I really liked #3, my son was "meh" on it, and my brother is reading it now.

Anyway, am I the only one who knows today is Star Wars day? That makes me feel far too nerdish.

EDIT: As for Clone wars, I don't watch it. I've seen like 3 episodes. It just doesn't interest me. As far Asoka, I'm not sure I can find a CGI alien "hot" but whatever floats your boat.

I liked the book a lot. I had to put it down when we started looking for houses last year and then moved. I picked it back up again a little while back. It takes me awhile to read a book because I'm constantly doing stuff plus adding in the football books I've been obsessively reading.

The Empire Strike Back: 30 Year Anniversary Thread

Admiral Ozzel: "Lord Vader, the fleet has moved out of lightspeed and we're preparing to..."
Darth Vader: "You have failed me for the last time, Admiral. Captain Piett?"
    Captain Piett: "Yes, my lord?"
Darth Vader: "Make ready to land our troops beyond their energy field, and deploy the fleet, so that nothing gets off the system. You are in command now, Admiral Piett."
Admiral Piett: "Thank you, Lord Vader."

Arguably, the greatest movie of all time.

    Han: WHO's scruffy lookin'?

    Leah: I love you!
Han: I know. (Head disappears into carbon freezing chamber)

I think it could've done without the really huge scream/whine that Luke gives after Darth Vader tells him he's his father. That just makes me want to laugh. "Nooooooooooooooo! That's not true! (cry) (whine)" C'mon Luke. How bout some sort of comeback?

    But otherwise freakin' awesome.

I remember when I was younger, I always thought of Empire Strikes Back as my least favorite Star Wars movie (this was before Episode 2). But as time goes on I like it more and more

Certainly IMO one of the best action/adventure movies I've ever seen (Raiders of the Lost Ark, also, so kudos to Harrison Ford), but best picture of all time? 'Fraid not.

Ah yes, the better days when George Lucas wasn't an embarrasment to the franchise.

    How?

    Jar Jar Binks, that's how.

Also, Han shoots first. It just has to stay that way.

that's because it is the one film he had the least involvement with.

ever read Lucas' ideas for Empire? put it this way, several ideas made their way into the prequels, that's how good they were and why he hired Lawrence Kasdan to write the screenplay -- he couldn't do it.
