And we've got even better news. Per Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News, the team will be breaking out the kelly green uniforms seen most recently in the film Invincible, based on the real-life story of '70s-era receiver/special teamer Vince Papale. The Eagles rolled out the dark green uniforms with the Rollerball (as Keith Olbermann dubbed them) numbers in 1996. According to Bowen, the Eagles will wear the new-old jerseys on September 12, when they host the Green Bay Packers. Per league rules, teams may wear an alternate/throwback uniform twice during the regular season and once during the postseason. I don't know about some of you but I would like to see the Jets 80's uniform as a throwback this season instead of the Titans uniforms which 1) aren't really JETS uniforms and 2) Are getting a little stale. Or how about just changing the color scheme a little bit for the late 60's version. I for one like the Kelly green better than the darker shade we've had since Parcells.
You probably won't be disappointed, because new alternate jerseys means more money in merchandising. Don't be surprised to see the Jets jump into the fray with the kellys if the Eagles start raking in the jack with their new throwbacks.
There are a few threads on this already, but I agree we should use the 80's throwbacks for a while. The Titans stuff iff growingg old. Although, the white titans jerseys are nice.
Cool. I always liked the older Eagles uniforms better than their new darker ones. Although the newer ones have grown on me
The Jets 80's unis are an obamaination. I can live with the Titans uni, the SBIII uni, because they are legit pieces of Jets History. Don't bring back the almost was, could have been, but never did as a marketing ploy unless it's limited to specific players of that era.
I think politics have altered your spelling :smile: I actually like the old 80s jerseys a lot more now than I did back then. I prefer our current ones, but I wouldn't mind seeing a return for a game or two.

Like the current version of the Jets 'classic' jerseys. But those cheesy green pants really look like crap--especially when paired with the white jerseys (dark green version of Marshall U. or Saskatchewan Rough Riders).
I have a good idea. Why don't the Jets have a different uniform for every game. This way it would keep everyone happy........ The Fans because everyone has their favorite jersey from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's etc. etc. and the merchandising people would have an orgasm too. Make it happen NFL.
And then one week they go shirtless so Kerry Rhodes can finally have an orgasm outside of watching his highlight(read: audition) reels.
I hate the Titans uniforms. I've said this from Day 1 -- I really wish we would use the 90's uniforms instead of the Titans for throwback games.
Say whatt? I feel like we wore the Titans jerseys at least 5 times last year. And every time.. I wanted to kill myself.
I hate the Blue and Gold Titan's uni's too. I really don't mind their white tops version of the Titans, though. Those look pretty clean.
The Eagles are wearing these unis this year in honor of the 1960 NFL Championship (the only post season game Lombardi and Bart Starr lost)
