Personally, i would love it if Donovan Warren came in and dominated the offseason and won the spot. More realistically, I see Pool starting and becoming an above average player in Rex's secondary. Hes a big hitter and has pretty good ball skills. I think we are pretty deep at safety. Even if Pool gets hurt, we could see a rotation of Eric Smith on running downs, Dwight Lowrey on passing downs, and Ihedigbo in to blitz.
I think we're pretty deep at Strong Safety and pretty non-existent at Free Safety. I can see Warren and maybe Lowery competing to ballhawk at FS, but Poole just seems like more of a SS type even though he's played the center field before. He screams 'stopgap', obviously. I guess Rex thinks we have the freedom to go cheap at that position this year.
Has it been confirmed which position Leonhard will play? I assumed he would make the switch after the departure of rhodes.
He was drafted by Herm Edwards to be the next John Lynch and instead he was the next chronic injury waiting to happen.
Fag Florio just reported via 'league source' that the Saints are about to re-sign Sharper to a 1 year deal.
I have always considered myself a Jet fan since I was a child but only started to care about football on days other than Sunday in the last couple years. I mean I guess that is contradictory....
I say Pool starts until/unless he gets hurt. Be sweet if Warren could come in out of no where late in the season to play FS for us.
Ain't nothing wrong with a little extra E in your life. I've been thinking of adding 2 E's to his name just for fun... Say it with me... POOLEE! Whee
Brodney Pool no doubt about this. When this guy gets the Football he won't go down. With the field on lock from Cro, and Revis he will see balls come his way.
