While we could no doubt have a lot of fun speculating at your inability to answer a question, that is outside the scope of this current thread, so let me help you. The commissioner of the NFL has many interests. One of which is how the league is perceived by those who watch the NFL. The point here is that those people, the ones who watch the NFL, by and large could care less about minor non-criminal idiocy. If the commissioner of the NFL chooses to spend his time pursuing such trivial issues he is a fool. Does that mean I am going to stop watching football? Obviously not.
That's fine, I think people are too quick to put it to bed after finding out that he wasn't "removed from the plane" by police. To me, the moral of the story is the same either way. I was really hoping he'd work hard to keep his nose clean with his second chance and I'm disappointed that doesn't seem like it will be the case. Hopefully he doesn't let the team down with some bullshit legal issue in a big spot.
What pisses me off the most is that this was completely avoidable. Holmes should have just turned off his iPod or not done whatever he did to get the police involved. He has to know he's already on thin ice (especially in Pittsburgh) so why push it?
Haha I think I've already said it about three times. HOW HARD IS IT TO TURN OFF YOUR FUCKING IPOD. Now granted I get in my tiffs with MTA workers from time to time. But your on a fucking plane Santonio and your already suspended for four games this year. Eat your peanuts. Drink a diet slice. Sit down and shut up.
Holmes probably has played way too much Grand Theft Auto. I bet his masterplan was to push over Grandpa, punch the hooker in her face, and stab the pilot en route to a hijack....of course while listening to his iPod. That's 5 stars for sure, you can't escape that shit...
the fun part of all of this is that players tend to have a sense of entitlement because of the way that fanatics treat them. media tends to blow things out of proportion and overstate things because fanatics go crazy over it. all of the things we complain about we create.
I would really like to know what he did to cause the airline to call the cops called on him. If it was anything like: Flight Attendant: Sir, could you please turn your iPod off? Holmes: Do you know who I am? Flight Attendant: The plane could crash! Holmes: Ughhhh...fine...bitch. I really wouldn't care. So he's a prick, that doesn't really separate him from much of the NFL.
no, his interest is how it is perceived by everyone, not simply current fans, and ensuring nothing negative and criminal is associated with his league. huge difference between the two. but, I'm glad you feel possible illegal behaviors are trivial.
He fucking turned it off though. Thats what gets me about this story. They still called the cops despite him actually fucking complying!
Everyone can speculate all they want. Depending on what radio station and papers you read will give you the 'truth'. This is from Randy Lange and it what I'm going with.... Bunch of Pontius Pilates
the issue about this whole situation is the police got called into the mix. if a flight atendent tells you to turn it off your ipod, turn it off. is it rocket science to just turn it off. It's like he made the most no brain situation, one that requires basically no effort, the hardest and most attention grabbing situation. If he continues to act this way it will be in no time he does something really stupid and gets suspended for the season. I hope he really does get his act together cause it would just be a big waste of talent.
All we know is that at some point during the descent he was asked to turn off his ipod and, according to the police, he eventually complied. Not sure why the cops were called but we haven't received any word of him doing anything else than having his ipod on at one point where he shouldn't. As for now, I'm going with the idea that this is being blown out of proportion and someone probably overreacted to it.
he makes some poor judgments that's for sure but we aren't dealing with much of a criminal here. he likes to smoke weed and he apparently has trouble turning off his ipod without being rude. neither of those things are very big offenses in my mind.
I really don't see what the fuss is about. The ipod does not interfere with any flight instrumentation and as far as I can tell, the reason for removal/switching off , is to hear the PA announcements, BIG deal. Crappy attendant.
