Man. He needs to get into Revis Christ, and calm himself. I haven't even seen this guy in green yet, and don't want him to be gone. Guy is a great talent, but he needs to stay out of the paper on the off-season. Even if it's false/bullshit stay out of the paper feb-aug.
I will say this, an airport has too be one of the worst places in the country to get in trouble at. Ok maybe at a club in a city, your drunk and whatever thats one thing. But how do you get in trouble at the airport. Its amazing how stupid this was on his part. If he get suspended for more games I will be very annoyed with him
Over/under on how many more posts this thread gets from people reacting to the first post and not reading anything after it?
The follow up is irrelevant IMO. Whether or not he actually was asked to get off the plane doesn't matter. What matters is that he's still acting foolish enough to have the police called there. He hasn't learned a damn thing.
^Apparently though he complied. Look I agree, turn off the fucking ipod Santonio but at the same time if this is what he's getting scrutinized about no wonder the man wants to blaze 24/7. It seems like the media ran away with this one.
It's really not that hard. All it takes is a phone call and a mention of Santonio's name in Pittsburgh I'm guessing.
My fiance is a steelers fan and she was having a ball with this one. Until I told her at least Holmes is not out forcing college chicks to have sex with him. Gets her goat every time. You think he would be a tad bit smarter than this considering his past troubles.
Are you really going to make excuses for him? It's really not that hard to turn your fucking ipod off either.
^ It isn't really that specific. At first glance I thought it was talking about the flight attendant or whoever, but it could have been the police. If it said "at which point" then that would indicate that he removed the iPod after the police instructed him to. Since it said "at one point" I really have no idea, so TBC I guess.
This is never a story if the police aren't involved. What do you think happened? Do you think the flight attendant asked him to remove his ipod, he complied, then the police put out a statement to the media about it? Let's be real here.
So who called the police? The crew or one of the passengers? I haven't looked through these articles that thoroughly, yet.
I'm sorry, I think you're really trying hard to make an excuse for Santonio acting like the fool that he is here. What are you suggesting?
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hW0AaFyRIcZ62AOB6Bsj6oC6luXgD9FDHR0G0 Holmes must have removed his iPhone while on the plane. It makes no sense that he would keep it on. It sounds like all the police did was talk to him once he got off the plane about "flight regulations". Holmes must have said something to the flight attendant to get her to call the police. She probably knew who he was, so maybe she was scared.
The point is that a person with any brains and/or respect for the law would be on there best behavior after experiencing the recent trouble that Santonio has. Especially when he's been afforded a second chance. He hasn't learned a thing, and I doubt he ever does.
This was posted in another thread by PoconoJetFan http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/arti...s-story-untrue Allegheny Police: Early Holmes Story Untrue Published: 04-30-10 By Randy Lange email article Editor-in-Chief Friday morning reports on a Pittsburgh TV station Website and other Internet outlets regarding an airline incident allegedly involving Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes on Thursday night are not true, according to the Allegheny County, Pa., Police Department. "As previously reported, [Santonio] Holmes was NOT removed from any airplane (4/29/2010)," a media release from the police department read. "He was asked to remove his Ipod (at one point), in which he complied. There's no further information to report." Jets head coach Rex Ryan was asked about the reports (some of which were corrected this afternoon) at his midday news conference in between rookie minicamp practices. "I know what's been told to me. It kind of got blown out of proportion by some media outlets," Ryan said. "I don't think it's as big as what's been out there." Pressed on if he was concerned about what the reports might say about Holmes, the coach said, "The version I got is much different than the version you got or what's on the Internet. To comment on that is probably not right." Ryan also praised Holmes, who came over in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers on April 12, for his work as a Jet. "Santonio around here has been tremendous, at the voluntary workouts, competitive-wise in all the drills," he said. "The thing that really jumps out at me is how he's been in the classroom, with Mark Sanchez, Brian Schottenheimer. He takes great notes. He's been tremendous in the building."
Yeah, I'm not disagreeing with you. It just seems like Santonio doesn't get the principle of what he did. It wasn't that turning off the iPod was that big of a deal, it was just that he refused to obey the rules. Hopefully he learns from this and does everything he is told to by the authorities.
