Always been a huge John Henderson fan, it would be sweet if he decided to go to an elite caliber team rather than KC which is probably going to offer him more money.

I find it fucking awesome that we can call the Jets an elite team... potentially of course.

Henderson is more of a shoot and go guy than a gap filler.

he doesn't fit in the defense.

I don't know. I kinda felt that way about Jenkins coming over, being more of a up the field guy. The thing is he still does it, but he usually leaves the Center or a Guard on his ass, he's a gap breaker.

Two guys pushing the offensive point of attack back has to make things easier for the LBs.

Henderson can play DE here. Just read the Jets are kicking the tires on him instead of AT on ESPN. I'd love this move.

Owen Schmitt! He is from WV and would make a great FB. He can catch the ball and is fast enough to run the rock. All time fav Mountaineer player.

Oh nice. I just wonder if "kicking the tires" means that a few people are discussing him amongst themselves, or that they've already arranged for a airline ticket from KC to NY.

    Thank mother loving god!

I posted it earlier in the thread, how the hell do you run on this defense with Henderson Jenkins Ellis as the front line? You will need 4 blockers on Jenks and Henderson all the time. Ellis left 1-on-1 all day will make a ton of plays. Also that means no free blockers coming at Scott or Harris, and that means more gap shooting and TFL. Have to love the idea of adding this mammoth to our front line.

add in the fact you can't pass on us, if you can't run either how do opposing teams move the ball? I have no clue, but how could you not want Henderson on this team over a washed up and worthless 4th OLB on the depth chart in adalius Thomas.

Added bonus! when's the last time you saw a Jets lineman knock down passes at the line? I can't remember, but I would bet we average 2-3 a year total. Henderson probably gets his mitts on 4-5 a year all by himself!

I remember, it was back in the Parcells or Herm era I think- a white DL who was with us for only a few seasons. Can't remember his name for the life of me but he had a penchant for knocking the ball down at the LOS.

Aside from the fact that you're in the wrong thread. Fuck and no. We still have T-Rich and we drafted a fullback. There's absolutely no reason to bring in another.

so I checked the Stats, Burton last played for the Jets in 2001. So in other words its been 9 years since we had a guy who could knock a pass down at the line....

Henderson is talking to Kansas City, who, last I checked, is going to be running a hybrid with a 3-4 base, just like the Jets do. If Rex can make Eric Smith fit this defense, he can make Henderson fit.
