Rex said before the draft that they had no needs and they were going after the best player at each pick, no matter what position. That's sure as shit what they did I guess. At least we won't have to look at Jason Davis tweeters on the front page anymore.
As pissed as I am with these last 2 picks we traded for, the one thing that I will say is when Tanny trades up for a player in the draft, he has usually struck gold (Revis, Harris, Keller, Sanchez & Greene)!
A samurai sword is also one-dimensional, hut it comes in handy in a sword fight. Well think of our running game as a sword fight......we just drafted a samurai sword.
Rex Ryan Schedule/Taylor Press Conference Transcript: On if the approach going into the draft will be affected with Taylor signing… No, not at all. I think we look at it as, we have an excellent football team. There’s no, ‘You absolutely need this or you need that.’ We’re set up. We’re in an ideal situation and that is we have a great team. We’re going into the draft where we can take the best player. That’s where you usually make the best decisions. Usually when you make mistakes in the draft it’s all about reaching for a guy or a need and you let a better football player go by. We’re in (a) position where we can take the best player regardless of position and just strengthen our football team. We have a great team right now without the draft. The fact that we have the draft coming up and we already have a great team, it’s going to be a real positive for us.
From everything I've read, John Conner is one of the best special teams tacklers in the country. Conner and Laury should help that unit out a lot.
Why is everyone bitching about that 7th? Tanny's said numerous times before that the 6th and 7th rounders usually aren't better than the UDFAs. Also, wasn't that 7th three picks before the end of the draft?
