Forget that, what I want to know is what the fuck that comment has to do with Faneca getting the axe. ...actually, no I don't. I just want it to die.
I am so glad that Cody did not fall to us, actually it wouldn't have mattered if he did Rex knows that Cody is not athletic enough to fit into his system. I just looked through some of your posts..and wow.
Yeah WTF does Cody have to do with cutting Faneca.......lol I guess that knucklehead thought Fat Bastard could play both sides of the line.
I cannot believe jet fans are happy with this pick...We need someone to roll jenks fat ass off the field when he gets injured everytime in the same week of the season and play NT.. We had to rotate lunchbox devito and pouha...
It has to do with fanaca messed up our pick because he made tanny get nervous and draft another guard..We could at least draft a tackle so when woody breaks down.We can fill a real tackle to replace him..Ducocky cant play tackle. And all our depth are centers and guards.
Right, he always gets hurt week 6 and someone has to "roll his fat ass off the field". I can't believe I'm even replying to such a retarded post.
You do realize the Ducasse can play RT in the future. What can Fat Bastard do? Maybe Rex can teach him to play trumpet by keeping buckets of herring around.
This. Earlier I got a text saying Faneca was cut and the first thing I asked was wtf why the hell would you cut someone during the draft. The ONLY reason I can think of is a cut and resign. Yeah the guy is overpaid like hell and interest in him is minimal but guess what there are teams out there who might be one OL from a superbowl willing to give up a 6th or 7th round pick to get that final piece. Theres just absolutely no reason youd cut a guy until at least after the draft, and im sure the front office knows that. Which is why this has to be speculation at best.
You guys are aware Damien Woody can play guard and be the LG if Vlad cannot make the transition smooth enough..... Could have Woody at LG and Vlad at RT.
Iggy, can you respond to this one? I don't know as much as you do about this but I'm pretty sure that cutting him and resigning him will still have us paying him the $5million at least.
Since we cut him, this would not affect our F8 position, correct? Otherwise, that would temper the pain a bit, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't based on what I read...
How can we not be happy? We needed a replacement for Faneca and we drafted one. Btw, I'm guessing you've never watched Cody play before because he's the weakest nose tackle I've ever seen. Not to mention our defense played fine without Jenkins. Moving on: Faneca was our worst offensive lineman last year. I was saying it throughout the season. He's an above average run blocker, but he's nothing special. His pass blocking was atrocious as he got flipped over numerous times. Cutting Faneca is all about taking a hit in unamortized bonus money this year, when there is no cap, instead of next year when there will be a cap (assuming there's football next year). We have to resign Revis, Mangold, Edwards, Holmes, Cromatarie, and Cotchery (I think) next year. And D'Brick and Harris the year after. If we held onto Faneca, we would not be able to sign the players that we want to sign. So we got rid of our worst lineman and also our most expensive lineman. Makes sense. What doesn't make sense is the timing. Like others have already said, Faneca must have pissed someone off to be cut so soon.
Vlad projects better at guard than at tackle at this level. He's not good enough to be out on an island there.
