Whats the deal with this guy ? There was a ton of people who had a hard on for him and wanted him in the first.

Now hes falling fast. Were almost at the 4th round and nobodys touched the guy.

Is this all because he has a reputation for not trying hard and giving up on plays ?

How far should he be falling ? I hated the thought of grabbing him in the first and even second, but for a late 3rd/early 4th id have a hard time complaining.

Every year, there seems to be a D-Lineman that falls that has a lot of talent but questionable consistency/drive. Griffen's that guy this year.

Maybe teams keep confusing him with Merv Griffin?

When you project what a player is going to do at the NFL level it really hurts them if they were handed starting jobs in college and lost them. That happened to Griffen in both his freshman and sophomore seasons. Then he had a good junior season and decided to come out based on that. Bad move. Teams had to see him have another full good year at the college level before they were going to bite on him anywhere except as a project player this year.

Every team looking at him has to wonder if he just cashes a big check and then goes home after a few years. As a project player in the 4th, 5th or 6th that won't happen. The check won't be large enough.

Are motor/interest level on his CONS list? If so, call it the Vernon Gholston effect

I'm stunned that he fell to the 4th. I was counting down the picks in the 2nd round expecting him to be taken in the 50's. He was #1 on Kiper's big board for a solid two hours.

He is absolutely a Vernon Gholston type player from a mental standpoint. He has a ton of talent, and he could be a star, if he had heart. He has no drive, motor, and is way to inconsistent. He would be a horrible fit on this team, I really can't see the Jets going after a guy like this, not after the Gholston experiment failed us.

I think he could be a good 4-3 player, but that is only if someone can light a fire under his ass and makes him play some football. I don't think anyone will be able to, he is just in it for the easy money, he doesn't care about football.

He has a lot more to offer then Vernon Gholston did as a pass rusher though. Players like this frustrate the hell out of me.

In reading about this guy they are saying he has a poor work ethic and not much football smarts but is a good athlete. I know that info and a nickle will get you nothing just saying.

    Question on Everson Griffen...

... 1. a sure 1st rounder from most Mock Drafts and a pretty damn good pass rusher, why has no one picked him up in the 1st 3 rounds and

    2. If he's available at #124 Do you think the JETS will finally take him and if so would you guys be happy to have him at this pick? I'd be ecstatic if we get him at 124.:breakdance:

Please forgive me if this has been posted already.

Would you take Everson Griffen or Greg Hardy at this point?
