Just curious- a little off topic, but I saw an interview with mangina today. Will you guys look at manginis term with the jets in digust or with content?

I'll thank him for making the Jets the 2010-2019 powerhouse they will become by fucking up 08 and allowing the Jets to steal Sanchez for practically nothing.

Thank You for being our Wally Pipp.

I like Eric Mangini. I think he is a very smart coach. I think he turned us around and is turning the Browns around. Hopefully with the Browns he will be able to enjoy the fruit of his labor.

I actually think it's pretty indicative of how fairweather this fanbase is in general when you look at the consensus Mangini opinion. Everyone bashes him because of the last 4 weeks of 2008. He took shit and turned it to gold in 2006 and was crowned. He has a high football IQ.

EM is a great drafter and Cleveland has how many picks? 12? I guess Holmgren will get the credit if they improve.

Any man that picks Vernon the Ghost, isn't smart to me ... just saying ... and the fact that the whole scouting team wanted a CB made me think twice about him

But I'm glad his tenure here is over with, thanks to some trades he turned us around, and thanks to Mike Holmgren down in Cleveland making moves, he's turning around that franchise, I still to this day don't think Mangini will ever fit as a HC, but as a DC, he's a good football guy, but I just don't know about that guy

But I give credit where credit is due, he got us Revis, Mangold, Brick and Harris, I always questioned him though ...

When I think Mangini I think of Gholston. When I think of Gholston I think about McKelvin and get pissed.

Sidenote - I also think about the Soprano's when Mangini is mentioned.

Yeah see most fans think of Revis and Harris when they tink of Tannenbaum and Gholston when they think of Mangini even though they were both braintrust for each pick. If you want to bash Mangini for Gholston you'll praise him for Revis.

Why is there so much love for Mckelvin?

He had a nice first year and got injured in his second year. It's not like he has lived up to where he was drafted.

We all bash the gholston pick and rightfully so, but the alternatives

Sedrick Ellis, Leodis Mckelvin, Keith Rivers

None have them have lived up to their draft position.

And I love Mangini - the collapse led to Rex Ryan, mangini gave the jets sanchez and braylon

    Thanks Eric!

Mangini is the reason the Jets have Gholston instead of DRC or McKelvin. Great drafter my ass.

OK and then there's Revis, Harris, Leon, Brick, Mangold, Brad Smith, and Eric Smith.... plus the free agents.

Mangina the ex-coach did more to help this team than he did while he was here. Yeah, I'm giving Tannenbaum the props for the draft moves as the only guy Mangina ever "insisted" on was of course, Vernon "the friendly Ghost" Gholston. Again, I forgive Mangina as he also gave us Sanchez and I would suppose that's a wash. I'd really like him if he took Gholston instead of Stuckey with him to Cleveland.

I don't like him. He is a smart football guy,but the problem is that the people and players around him usually don't like him. Even with all the knowledge in the world, that won't get you far.

I think of Mangini's term here more of a process. It was about all three phases of his tenure that if they were complimentary to each other we would have success. Like i said, it's a process.

Mangini might be a genius but he's not a leader.

This seems pretty accurate. One of the hallmarks of leadership is listening to and trusting your subordinates. Mangini was notorious for lacking this asset.
