I think we should hire Don Shula to consult on how to win it all. The man clearly knows and our brain trust would be stronger going into next season if he was on board. Seriously, some moves that make the team better on paper don't make it better on the field. Jason Taylor is a player who has consistently expressed contempt for the Jets as a team. He did this in the context of playing for our arch-rivals but that's beside the point. There have been a lot of great Dolphin players over the years who have managed to deal with the rivalry without spitting all over the Jets in the process, Jason Taylor is not one of those.
Are football players not related to football now? I thought when people talked about the players that play this game, that is football related. I'm just a fan. You obviously got my point, no need in trying to bash fellow poster's for their opinions on this topic especially. Just because it is easy for you to accept, doesn't mean it is so easy for others. This guy has been a much hated rivaled player for a reason, now he is a Jet, this isn't out of the ordinary.
Do they not have mods on their board? The best part is that mixed in with the 80 or so JT threads is a 'JT Merged' thread and an 'Official JT' thread.
Who in the hell cares about something this guy said about his rival? Trash talking is part of the game. Oh shit...he didn't like a team in his division that has retardedly obnoxious fans and he was vocal about it. Who cares? Jason Taylor is a part of this team. I doubt his teammates (the guys that actually matter) give a shit about his trash talk. He'll help this defense out more than Gholston or Thomas.
Here's a surprise: Jets fans acting like children. Jason Taylor helps the team and carries pretty much zero risk. I really could not give less of a damn about him being "Enemy #1" or whatever ridiculous BS you folks have conjured. He's a professional football player, and even if you were to question his integrity (which would be childish and short-sighted, never mind flat-out fucking stupid), his ego would never let him play at anything but full capacity. We can argue about the merits given that he's a player in decline, but protesting due to rivalry or anything along those lines is pure and utter rubbish. In short: grow up.
Yeah, I don't really have enough time to mess with that right now, I took a couple of screen caps, maybe later.
Up until now, I've downplayed how insane this makes Dawlpfinz pfanz. As king, you must find the good in any situation.
Good luck with Taylor. He was a good player for us, but his age has limited his production in recent years. I'm not happy that he's decided to join the Jets, but at the same time it's a business, and he has to do what's best for him / his future. He may be serviceable this year as a situational pass rusher, but I wouldn't expect anything special... ~BK~
imagine next year when taylor goes back to maimi for a visit and strolls through their locker room wearing his new ring. his x team mates will gather around like a bunch of wide eyed school girls looking at a puppy.
Also unsurprisingly, the Dolphins fans are acting like a bunch of immature morons. Please, please let's not stoop to that level. Rationality, folks.
I don't like that thread about the Lions possibly giving up a 2nd for Ronnie Brown. That could turn into Jahvid Best.
I fucking hate Jason Taylor. I cant believe we signed a what 35 year old pass rusher to fill that hole?
