I would envision in 2 years DE Alex Carrington/DE Tyson Alualu NT Linval Joseph/Cam Thomas DE Cameron Heyward/Adrian Clayborn Let Devito stay as a rotational guy and get a STUD in 2011.
I think he'll be available in the middle of the second round, but you're right...he won't make it to the end of the second. I think we could see Kareem Jackson and Toast Robinson go ahead of him. There's a really good chance that Perrish Cox, Chris Cook, Dominique Franks, and Brandon Ghee will be there for us at the end of round two. Franks is a prospect that people should really get to know. He's a beast.
Depending who Cleveland takes in Rd 1, I can't see McCourty get passed the Browns in Rd 2. Looks like I'm the only poster wanting McCourty in rd 1. What sets McCourty apart from most (not all) of the other CBs available.....incredible ST player. I'm leaning a secondary player more and more with the Fins getting Marshall......especially safety help. My current Mock ...trading down into early rd 2 and getting Nate Allen is my favorite option. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=55579.....before Holmes trade
My two optimistic picks: 1. Odrick 2. Ducasse Most of all I'd like to have a pass rusher though; like Griffen, Sapp or Norwood. I just do not have enough confidence in anyone of them to say that's the guy I want.
I took him other day in Jabba's thread, and I'll probably want him again within the next 5 minutes. There are just so many damn good players in this draft, plus Tanny's done a great job of eliminating any real "need" through FA/trades. That leaves us free to fill our roster with BPA for depth/rotations, which are needed just about the same in a number of areas (DL, OL, DB, OLB). So in a case where "need" would normally be the tie breaker for two guys you have rated similarly, you're now tearing your hair out deciding who to take. Really, it's a great situation to be in on draft day(s).
Sergio Kindle/Cam Thomas or Linval Joseph/Eric Norwood I wouldn't mind loading up on DL either with any combination of these Linval Joseph Cam Thomas Tyson Alualua
Add a poll with checkable options so we can see what combination the majority of us would like. We could also split this into two threads.
Well in the first I want the most is Eric Berry, but who I think available or could likely be around is Jared Odrick In the second I would want Damian Williams but I think of the guys likely to be around I would say Tyson Alualu
gonna go with some reverse psychology here....just to try something new. 1.Jerry Hughes 2.Tim Tebow I need to take a shower.
AT 29: ODRICK, HUGHES, KINDLE, IUPATI TRADE UP: BRANDAN GRAHAM, EARL THOMAS TRADE DOWN: LINVALL JOSEPH, NATE ALLEN, EVERSON GRIFFEN, D McCOURTY, CODY AT 61: RICKY SAPP, MORGAN BURNETT, ALUALU, CARRINGTON, CAM THOMAS, COOK MY DREAM DRAFT-- ODRICK/SAPP I think that is every eligible player in this draft.
The two I really want: 1st - Kindle 2nd - Alualu Defense would be sick this year with these 2 in the front 7 as long as we could grab another serviceable corner from somewhere. I'm more worried about the CB position than the S position at this point. The two I think we have a more realistic shot at and would be happy with: 1st - McCourty 2nd - Cam Thomas We are pretty weak in coverage after our 1 and 2 corners (jury is still out on Cromartie even). With all the elite pass happy teams (lot of 3 and 4 WR sets) we'd have to go through to reach the SB, it's important we sure up our CB position. McCourty could be an immediate impact player on ST, and possibly fight for that 3rd CB position this year with Lowery. Depending what happens with Cro next year he could see himself become our #2 CB by 2011. Cam Thomas gives us run stopping support to go along with using our 1st pick in coverage. Jenkins and Pouha are both big bodies on the wrong side of 30, so getting some youth on the DL is pretty essential. These picks make even more sense if we can improve our pass rushing pre-draft with someone like JT.
You wouldn't want Cody if we traded back like 7-10 spots and picked up another 4th? I'm not thrilled with him either but I wouldn't mind depending on how the board looked. I just have a feeling that in 2 years, he's going to be another Vince Wilfork, and every 3-4 team is going to be kicking themselves for passing on this guy with such obvious talent. Of course, with any 350 lb guy, I could also see him being a complete piece of shit.
This is what I expect him to be. He has, comparably speaking, no athleticism, and his weight issues are also a liability. If we're dropping back 7-10 spots, I feel fairly confident someone else will be on the board (Thomas, Joseph, Alualu, maybe even Price). If not, I'd hold out for someone like Atkins or Arthur Jones in a later round.
