The first two is what I WANT - not what's available at #29 and I misread the OP, thought we had two choices for 1st round.

My choice for round 2 would be Tyson Alualua if he's still available which I don't think he will be, but would love it. If Tyson isn't available then Reshad Jones - we need help at Safety.

One very disturbing Nickel rush that would kill Tom Brady.

True but I'd rather not waste a pick just to do that. at least not an early pick neways. Wouldn't mind that if it happened with a first rounder and a 6th round pick though :)

That would be FANTASTIC but neither one will be around during our pick in said rounds.

HAHA don't mean to bring the mood down but I'm a realist that will speak the truth. I'll work on it though

I love Joseph but not in the 1st. I have an issue with rewarding 1st round money to players whose production in college were not commensurate with their talent. Drafting these players in the 1st round gives them no incentive to get better. You are basically telling them from the start that size, talent and measurables is what pays not that and production. I want guys with 1st round talent who didn't always play up to their talent to see their peers get drafted in the 1st and realize that could have been them had they worked a little harder. After the 1st all bets are off. These guys now become the guys you want because of the massive chips on their shoulders.

    That said I'd love
    Odrick
    Burnett

    but would settle for

    Burnett
    Hardy

So you wouldn't take Joseph in the first because it's a reach of about 10 picks give or take but you'd take Hardy in the 2nd which is about 2 rounds above what he is projected? Not much logic in that.

If we stay put at 29/61, and based on who I think will be there...

    1. Brian Price
    2. John Jerry

I'll have probably changed my mind by the time I hit submit, though. This draft is that good.

I want to load up on D-linemen like the Pats did in the early part of the decade with Seymour, Wilfork, Warren, Green, etc.

They were so deep on the D-line their backups could have started for other teams, and as a result their D-line rotation was the best in football thus they could rotate big men and in out without missing a beat and keep all of their DL's fresh.

So if I had the opportunity I would love to take 34 NT/DE Linval Joseph in RD 1 and 34DE Alex Carrington in RD 2

Ellis will be 33 Y/O this year and Jenkins (coming off a torn ACL) is not getting any younger either, so I think both of them can crack the rotation and take meaningful snaps this year as we groom them to start in the near future.

In two years I would invision our starting D-line looking like this ...

    DE Alex Carrington
    NT Linval Joseph
    DE Mike DeVito

Having said that, I have no problem with a DL and a 34OLB edge rusher (in no particular order) if that's how we choose to go. I know we need a pass rusher so I'm cool with that so long as we get a really good one. (i.e. the anti Gholston)
