I dont believe there is anyway that Jason Taylor will not be a Dolphin this year. He is just using Jets as a crutch to get better contract from fish.
I'm not quite sure of that anymore. He has never won a ring, his career is winding down, and if winning is important to him, he will know where he wants to play.
If winning a Super Bowl is important to him he will be a Jet. I don't think he needs to be a rocket scientist to realize the Jets are a lot closer then the Dull-Phins.:finssuck:
Let him sign on the cheap. It pisses of Fin fans, shows Taylor to be a sellout, and might improve our DL. If he plays horrible then he's just tarnishing whatever NFL legacy he has at the moment.
So are we gunna get this loser or not? he can be our whipping boy. I'm positive he will be a Jet by the end of this week. At least he's being respectful and giving Holmes his 10 seconds of fame.
If he hasn't come now, and he's still looking for some special concessions regarding training camp, I'd tell him to get lost at this point. The guy is a veteran backup at this point and nothing more. As his production has never occurred as a member of this football team he shouldn't be conferred any kind of exceptional veteran's benefits. Sign the contract, if it has to happen that way, or get lost. -X-
I agree, if there is a deal on the table give him to the end of the day today and tell him the deal is being taken off the table. FYI: If I find the table and I will rip the deal up.
Dolphins to meet with Taylor http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/36435789/ns/sports-player_news/ The Dolphins will reportedly make a last-ditch effort to retain free agent Jason Taylor when coach Tony Sparano meets with the future Hall of Fame pass rusher this week. The report comes from ESPN's Chris Mortensen, who is close with Fins VP of Football Operations Bill Parcells. It's believed Taylor would much prefer to stay in Miami rather than go to the Jets, so he's probably willing to take less money to re-sign. New York can only offer around $3.5M over two years.
If JTaylor signs this will just be the Cherry on the top for Tannys offseason moves being restricted under final 4.
Here's an update from the guy who broke the "close to done" story: http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...will-jason-taylor-meet-with-tony-sparano.html Basically it says how he stands by his report, and just because a contract hasnt been signed doesnt mean it isnt close to done. It says his agent was on the radio discussing the situation and had some interesting things to say: Would Wichard himself, a former C.W. Post All-America quarterback who grew up on Long Island, like to see Taylor sign with the Jets? “Me? Absolutely. Absolutely,” he said in a typical burst of honesty. “First of all, [Ravens linebacker and Wichard client] Terrell Suggs told me once every defensive player should be able to play one year with Rex Ryan. That’s kind of what I said to Jason, I think, when I finally convinced him to go up there. “[Ryan] has just got an unbelievable way of motivating guys, and I know sometimes he speaks kind of unfiltered and gets himself in trouble. He embraces his guys and his guys embrace him. I’ve watched him all through the Baltimore days. He’s just dynamic when it comes to getting these guys to play.” it's awesome to see that word is spreading around the league that guys want to play for Rex Ryan.
I would like to know what plan B is..it's not Gholston. The nice thing about Taylor was he is so old and so decrepid that we could sign him for what Feely signed for. Not going to get Thomas to sign for that or anybody else any good. I would guess a trade, they dont really have any other choice.
