I follow Brandon Tierney on Twitter, and he made some good points I think we hould think about: So, what is our offensive philosophy? I mean, I love the deal and it is an absolute steal, but what type of offensive team are we?
If everyone stays healthy, Sanchez improves and the OL either stays what they are or gets even better...we will have an extremely balanced offense capable of beating people in alot of different ways. Ground and Pound will be established early...but we'll use the passing game to keep defenders out of the box and to create big plays.
If I were one of these receivers, I'd be excited about the team getting better, but worried that my numbers would drop. We already aren't a big time passing team, and now there's one more good WR to have to pass to. Me, personally? I'm stoked.
Well certainly ground and pound for the first quarter of the season until Holmes comes back from his suspension, and after that we'll likely open it up. A receiving corps like this one will do wonders to our running game.
A lot of ppl think this will put extra pressure on Sanchez, which it will obviously, but I think he'll have an easier time finding somebody to throw to when these 3 guys are out there because one of them is going to be working on a #3 corner
Holmes is a great run blocking receiver too- I really like this move for both the run and pass. He also threw one pass last year, it was intercepted but still. Just more Seminole/Tiger/Buckeye/WildCat options.
its so that the offense can run with Manning, Brees, Brady etc. Run 1st, but if the jets need to score quickly they can. They may use the pass to get points first, then run to wear down the opposing defense, then pass again once they are tired and worn down. Don't forget a great defense to stop most teams. Or, if the jets are behind, they have the weapons to catch up. One thing to memorize - the Jets won't have the #1 ranked rushing attack next year statistically, but that does not mean the run game has diminished, it means they aren't running the ball as much.
Jets will still run the ball 30 times a game. However, our passing offense won't be as hapless. Take last year's team and allow Sanchez to throw 200 to 225 yards per game instead of 162.9 and see what a difference it would have been. This team would have won the AFC East without a doubt. It's not like there were no opportunities for that to happen while still running the ball 30+ times a game.
i think that's one of the reasons why they have so many passing weapons. The Jets could run the ball 20 times in one game and have all 3 RBs under 10 carries.
I think this really makes Sanchez job a lot easier on paper- but he's really going to have to manage some egos out there. I think as long as we win it won't really matter. In that sense, the onus is on the defense and the running game to repeat last year's success. On paper, this should make it so that the Jets rarely see a blitz or a stacked box. The question is, can these guys sacrifice for the greater good, or are egos going to sabotage us? -X-
I can't believe that people are posting that we are the "NEW REDSKINS" on other sites because of the moves tanny made.... Its not like we paid him 100 million like the skins paid albert haynsworth....Or the contracts they paid out over the past couple of years...We gave cromartie $500,000.Braylon has a year to prove himself or he is gone and the same for holmes....So how are we the REDSKINS again?
Who Cares?? We talk shit about the Dolphags and the Cheatriots all the time. They're just jealous, yeah I farted- Jealous.
I think TANNY is smart because if it does not work out...All these moves are gone and we are not stuck with bad contracts...
they don't understand the quality and value of what we do. let them think that. The jets don't pay a JAG top 5 money like the Skins do. they are uninformed, and we can beat their favorite teams next year with this new redskins team.
