Just a hunch, but I question if Gerhart will even have a career on par with Alstott's...

    Not a fan...

That'd be a major reach, man. Shipley under-performed at the combine and he's a lot older than the average prospect. I think he'll fall to the 4th or 5th rounds.

When 30% of your highlight reel has you abusing the Trojans, thats a hell of a highlight reel.

Definately reminds me of Greene in alot of ways, though I would have liked to see some more long runs. Many of those 15-20 yard runs would have been 5-10 yard runs at most in the NFL. Still not bad at all.

There's nothing wrong with five to ten yard runs...especially in a ball control offense.

  8. He's a bit more punishing than Greene but doesn't have Greene's big play ability. I think if we drafted him he'd be an outstanding addition. He'd be criticized beyond belief by the media and this board but I don't see him purely as an RB in this offense. I think he can be a combination of Mike Alstott and Chris Cooley. Not a bad type of addition for a physical, east coast "Ground and pound" style offense.

    Chris Cooley? What?!

Gerhart has never played fullback. I don't get why people think he can play positions that require blocking ability.

  11. I can really see him as an H-back in our system. Just b/c he hasn't blocked before doesn't mean he can't. He's a big guy that would be lethal in preset motions and a monster as a check down passing option in the open field.

I don't think anyone's underestimating or discounting Gerhart's ability as an RB. I just think his size and catching ability making him an intriguing option in some other roles. That's never a bad thing.

Mike Alstott's shoulder pads and Cooley's tiny dick.

I'm not saying he can't block, he just shouldn't have to.

Receiving ability? The guy hasn't had more than 15 reception in a season.

Size? Gerhart's six feet tall and barely weighs 230 pounds.

He's power back - I want everyone to realize this.

what makes him run like peyton hillis other than h when you watch him run his skin color reminds you of Hillis? I havent watched that much of Gerhart so if his running style is actually similar to Hillis fine but I just hate everyone comparing him to other white guys just cause hes white with no further explanation

He lowers his shoulder and blows through people until they take him down. He works for every yard. That's why he reminds me of Hillis, moreso than him just being white.

Hillis runs lower and is definitely the superior receiver. He doesn't have anything close to Gerhart's vision or instincts, though. Hillis just kinda gets the ball and goes forward.
