Like TJ was ready to carry the load when Greene got hurt in the AFCCG?

TJ had already blown his knee, SD game I think. If the CS knew what they had in Greene, why didn't he see more PT during the season? Oh yeah he was rehabilitating, again.

People are so stupid. LT is not replacing Jones. Shone Greene is!! People are reading too much into this.

Uh, no, actually he was just a rookie. News flash, rookies dont always see PT their first season.

As someone already said, he was a rookie learning the offense and finding his feet.

Yeah, right there. Thats the problem I have. Greene has frustratingly shown what he can do, but has major durability issues so far. If LT becomes the #1, I'm sure he'll do a fantastic job for as long as he can, but I'm really concerned that we could lack real depth, especially if Leon goes as well. Picking up a UFA or HB in the later part of the draft is going to be essential.

    Exactly-

Greene can't catch for crap either- Acquiring LT does make many speculate about Leon's future, and with just cause.

I want to be wrong in the worst way. I have nothing against LT and loved watching the guy throughout his HOF career.
That being said I HATE THIS MOVE!

LT is not as good as TJ at this point in his career. He's carried the ball 800 times more then TJ. He's suffered more injuries and missed more games in his career then TJ. He wasn't as productive in the last couple of years as TJ.
Getting him at this point in his career is like buying a Ferrari that had it's motor replaced with that of a hyundai. He doesn't have it anymore.
You can argue with me all you want but i think more people would agree then disagree that if they were choosing a RB at this point in their careers TJ would have the majority of suitors.
WHY WHY WHY if you were going to pay LT almost the same $ as you would have had to shell out for TJ, why not sign the guy that has been productive in your system, is a great leader and locker room guy, and beloved by his team mates?
If you said to me "we'd have to pay TJ millions more then if we signed LT", then i say "ok, i understand your thinking", but we're not saying that.
We're in an uncapped year. We're talking $5 million over 2 years not $20 or even $10 million. We're not over the cap trying to save cash.
We had the #1 rushing attack in the NFL WITH injuries to one of, if not the most dynamic player on offense out for the season at the mid point. Why would you mess with success?

I'm a huge TJ supporter but I think it's time to move on. I think LT will do just fine backing up Greene. There's no point in arguing about what TJ would've and could've done. It's time to discuss what LT CAN and WILL do behind this awesome OL.

Still a rook and we were still plugging away with a 31 year old HB with a blown knee...so when would have been the right time to give him the ball?
At least hes stopped fumbling now.

Who showed that he was more than capable of making an impact. So again, why wasn't he introduced earlier?

By my recollection he was third string until Leon went down in week 7, when he had a breakout game against Oakland. After that he was used more and more culminating in the playoff performance.

Gus...S.Greene was the 3rd stringer behind TJ/Leon to start the season...there was no reason to throw him out there, and take away carries from TJ & Leon.

That is...until Leon went down.....then Greene emerged (almost immediately...he looked great in that Oakland game)

Mount Peyton? Mount Peyton?! This line of thinking already started to bug me even before Super Bowl Sunday. The media got itself real busy planting the seed that the Jets nemesis for the next 50 years is going to be Peyton Manning, he's going to foil the Jets every time, and we'll never get past him. Once you let a team inside your head (see Mangini and NE), it's your own undoing if you don't snap out of it. My money says Ryan doesn't allow it. Peyton is beatable, whether or not his O-Line rarely gets called for anything. Gee, I wonder why that is...?

    Yeah WTF-

It's like we just went back in time to when we might have been playing them in the post-season.

You've been banging this drum since the deal was first mooted, so answer me the question that I posed elsewhere and no-one has yet answered - if TJ is a better bet than LT, why were the Jets, Vikings and allegedly Eagles and Saints all prepared to pay LT more than the package that only the Chiefs were prepared to offer TJ? What do you know that all of these professional football organisations don't, and how do you know it?
