This wasn't a straight up trade between TJ and LT. We decided to let TJ go, and picked up LT as a suitable replacement. I just don't understand how you're so completely against this move.
Chargers o-line LT Marcus McNeill LG Kris Dielman C Nick Hardwick RG Louis Vasquez RT Brandyn Dombrowski Jets O-line LT D'Brickashaw Ferguson LG Alan Faneca C Nick Mangold RG Brandon Moore RT Damien Woody Hmmm...you think things may be a little easier on LT this year?
From what I can gather, TJ had a big chip on his shoulder about being demoted and taking a pay cut. If that is the case, TJ wouldn't have signed with us for what the Chiefs gave him. This is why comparing TJ to LT2 straight up doesn't make sense. Keeping TJ would have cost us a lot more money.
Will be interesting to see how much LT plays during the preseason. Can't wait to see him play for the JETS!
Seems like everyone wanted to absolutely rip Thomas Jones when he was here. Now that he's gone, he's treated like the best running back in Jets history. What gives, guys?
Lol is anyone believing this. So this guy talked to 10 GMs and doctors and 9 of the ten said Jones is fresher? Is this bleacher report?
Thanks for clarifying that. My cave doesn't have a TV yet. Where did I say that I was SO completely against this move? "Robbing Peter to pay Paul" - thats how I see it.
/thread The only team that spoke to Jones was us and KC, He would have signed with any other team other then the Chiefs, and maybe the Raiders. Al Davis doesn't like Jones' 40 time.
The Jets wanted Jones back, but not for 5.8 mill, and definitely not for that much after he sucked ass in the playoffs. The Jets tried to restructure the contract for less, but Jones wouldn't have it. Get over it.
does anyone actually think TJ would have chosen the chiefs over the jets if the jets hadn't just refused to pay him his roster bonus? we as fans don't care about the money because it is an uncapped year but as we have seen no team is willing to be a back on the last legs of his career the money that TJ was going to make. his pride caused him to take the same type of deal he would have gotten from the jets with another team. shit happens and it's time to move on. you would think the LT had been on the field in a wheel chair last year the way some people are up in arms about this.
what??.. that is the stupidest assesment i have ever heard.. I feel like I'm reading about the leading toothpaste brand instead of an NFL runningback..
I think I'm just going to go around TJ threads now posting these important numbers: 2.7, 4.6 (vs backups), 2.9, 2.3, 2.9, 2.6, nothing more needs said.
Who cares? He was here and helped us get into the POs, now hes gone, and whether he has a good season in KC, I couldn't care less. Just hope when Greene goes off on a cart halfway through the season that LT + ______ are ready to carry the load.
